"Upon arrival for our 3days/2 nights, my wife and I thought this would be one of the three best VRBO properties we had ever stayed at. Unfortunately, it was not ready to receive guests, and we chalk it up as our first disappointing VRBO experience.First of all, the location is incredible. The site is perched 20 feet above an inlet with no direct view of another house. From the nicely arranged exterior patios we saw sea lions, eagles, deer, kingfishers, and other wildlife daily. The moon reflecting off of the water was magical. Next, the house is amazing. As you can see from the pictures, outside it looks like a storybook cottage. Inside the fit and finish are high and it is well-equipped appliance-wise for such a compact footprint. 5 stars so far...The hot tub was not working upon arrival. With the manual, we were able to find the problem and turn it on, but it was unusable due to water quality. When we woke on our second day there was no running water. The host sent someone out to the site a few hours later, who determined that the water tank for the property was empty. It could not be filled during our visit. We were offered two gallons of bottled water and a refund on the second night of our stay, which we accepted, but we hadn't come ready to camp. There isn't space here for the other minor annoyances, so let me just say that maintenance would make this an incredible property...and if all else fails, you can use the hot tub water to flush the toilet."

"We enjoyed our stay at Brentwood in terms of the accommodation. The restaurant was closed and ‘The Pub’ was average at best. Our tiramisu was fridge freezer cold and had hidden parchment paper underneath.. we were not offered a refund and it put a sour taste on our eating experience. The location of the resort is great with plenty of parking and we walked to Butchart gardens."

"Beautiful property, set off highway on a VERY windy one way road. Get your groceries before you go. Closest grocery is 10 minutes. The property hadn’t been dusted in a long time, hair in both showers, fecal matter on master bathroom toilet, food in fridge, old coffee grounds, dirty laundry in washing machine, old sock on floor. Unresponsive host. Went back and forth with host. Finally, she said “so do you want it cleaned?” Of course I did! A teenager showed up with his friends in the car and we left for him to clean. When we returned we found he had changed the garbage bag in the kitchen and folded bathroom towels. Nothing else. When I brought it to the attention of the “premier” host, she said I guess I need new cleaners. No offer of a partial refund or anything. Not kid friendly. It works fine, you just have to be diligent with the doors since you are right on the water. Also lots of decorative items which we just put up out of reach. Beautiful place, just don’t count on the host helping you or cleanliness."

"Great location and plenty of space! Super close to everything you need: Butchart Gardens, Butterfly Garden, shopping (grocery / market, pizza, coffee house, pharmacy, pub). A short drive to Victoria. Had fun playing pool. Lovely views from the back porch. Quick responses from host. Easy access to private off street parking. Quiet, friendly neighborhood. Only minor complaint, while the home’s temperature is reasonably maintained, climate controls are locked. With the mild spring weather, it fortunately wasn’t an issue for us. There is a contact phone number for temperature adjustments, so it’s good to know changes can be made for guests who might prefer warmer or cooler. Overall very happy with our stay."

"Our extended stay here has been outstanding. First impressions are lasting, and we have only great things to say about all aspects of this property and its hosts.Excellent, timely, communications. Attractive, spacious, and welcoming accommodations. All in the picturesque, relaxing, and restorative Highlands (but still close to civilization, entertainment, food & bevs!)All around fantastic experience. 10/10 would recommend."

"What a little gem! Lori’s place had everything you needed and more, there were little extras such as a hair dryer and q tips that personally were important to me. But overall the entire stay was seamless, from check in to check out. The place was peaceful and quiet, exactly what I was looking for. A bonus was the outside patio area which I wish I could’ve used more if it had not rained so much. There was a bird feeder out there and the Hummingbirds were buzzing. Definitely would recommend and return again!"
