"This was an ‘extra’ overnight stay on our way to a golf tournament at another venue. The receptionist, Charley, was very polite and helpful and apologised for the fact that Hotels.com had not mentioned in my booking that car taking needed to be paid for separately…the only ‘fault’ we could find was that the breakfast only catered for scrambled eggs - no fried or poached options! :-("

"This hotel is a real find. It is 5 star. From Clare at check in, with Aron who carried our bags up 2 flights of stairs (the building is 300 years old and the owners cannot get permission to install a lift!), to Piotr and Aron who provided excellent service during the evening meal and last but not least to Emma who looked after us at breakfast. The selection of dishes on the evening meal menu was excellent and the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen was second to none. If you are visiting the Heybridge Maldon region for any reason stat in this hotel!"

"Great stay . Sea front hotel "

"We had a lovely 2 night stay at Orsett Hall. The grounds are lovely with an array of wild birds including green parakeets. The food was good with very generous portions. The room was clean. Bathroom was clean just had some sealant peeling off bottom of the bath. The bed was a bit too hard for me. We used the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. We were the only ones using the pool so it was fine but it isn't that big so would have felt crowded if anyone else was in there. I did notice that some of the tiles around exposed edge needed cleaning. The staff were all lovely and very polite and helpful. "
