Stayed here for a night before a Doubtful Sound cruise. The location was perfect (right down the street from the RealNZ ferry). The facilities were simple but very comfy. Right along the water with multiple paths around the grounds. Felt like a cool little community with many different travelers. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to this area!

The staff was very kind and friendly and the room itself was nice and cozy. But the shared facilities were not as well kept. The bathroom and shower facilities were messy/dirty - it was nearly impossible to keep anything dry in the shower areas. Overall, for the cost and location and short stay, it’s fine.
Facilities looked and sneaky a bit old but no complaint. They have everything washer/drier, old style toaster/cooker, plates, etc. in the room. Fantastic location. We will choose here over Te Anau next time as well.
We loved this place. Old but, in such great condition and quaint. The bed was super comfortable and Freddy the host, couldn't do enough to help. We have hesitation recommending Possum Lodge
The most beautiful place to stay in Fiordland. Cute retro cabin with great kitchen and bathroom. On the lake. Great walks around the area and easy walk to Real NZ port for boat to Doubtful Sound. Host Henry and his family were really friendly snd helpful - great experience visiting Possum Lodge
The location is amazing. Just to the back you can walk along the lake.
Very basic place. The room I was in was ok but due to poor isolation. So noisy. I sneezed and people next door said bless you. You could here everything

Clean but very old, bed very comfy, quiet. Sadly only two small relaxing chairs not particularly comfy. Unfortunately there was a very strong curry smell which was not pleasant, we appreciate not the managers fault but other places have a sign saying do not cook fish, curry etc which this place needs.

A good night's sleep
We had a very nice 3-day stay in one of the cottages. It was very quite, and the beds were very comfortable with an electrical blanket. The cottage was quite well equipped and there was heating.
We had a great trip to Doubtful Sound, which the lady at the reception helped us to book.
Unfortunately, the weather was quite wet, and the cottage was a bit damp. We asked for an extra change of towels as they did not dry well in the cottage.
We went to Te Anau for dinner as the local pub mostly seems to have fried food. We found a nice Indian Restaurant, and the Thai place in Te Anau was very busy. There was also a bakery in Te Anau that sold pies, including vegetarian pies.
Henry was amazing and showed us around the lodge! It's located near the water with wonderful views (and kayaks!), and a great outdoor fireplace. I wish we had gotten to stay longer!
