Manda Island is a secluded island off the coast of Lamu, Kenya. The perfect place to relax and spend wonderful afternoons enjoying the cool ocean breeze while lounging on these bed swings.
It is also possible to walk above/through the mangrove forests on some wooden bridges that have been built.
#BeachTips - Manda Island is in Lamu Province in Kenya across the harbour from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lamu Town. To get to Manda Island, you land on an airstrip and have to take a boat to Diamond Beach Village. The boat pulls up onto this beach and you grab your bag and head off to your personal grass hut. Because this beach is almost on the Equator, the sand is boiling hot! You cannot walk across the sand in barefeet; you need to wear sandals.
A large portion of Manda Island is covered in mangrove forests, and it is possible to kayak through them during high tide.
