If you're looking for a unique stay, this is the place. After our one-night stay, we reserved it for another night. We stayed in one of the cabins which were new, clean and well-maintained. The bathroom and showers were as well. Would definitely stay there again.
Such a cute place to hang with friends. Glamping at its finest. Bathrooms are clean and has everything you need. Beautiful and cute cabins! Perfect for two. :)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I stayed at Rancho Moonrise and it was such a vibe. We were able to join yoga and mimosas in the morning overlooking the ranch, then went on a horseback ride through the property. The perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.
The pool was super well kept and pretty chill, with just us there for a part of it which we loved.
We popped into Austin for our food needs, and it was a easy 20 minute drive. The whole experience felt peaceful, fun, and felt good to reconnect with being outdoors. Super excited to come back.
1 night stay in the queen cabin with AC! 100+ degree temps had nothing on this cabin AC. I slept like a baby after a day in the sun at the pool. Restrooms were under construction so we used the bathroom facilities in a safari tent. Everything was clean and so aesthetic! Loved the pool & being on the property at sunset was gorgeous!! Will definitely be back in the future!
I loved staying here. I booked the casita. I would stay here again if the location works out but it’s 30 minutes from downtown Austin so it’s a small inconvenience. The only problem I noticed was that I saw two dogs with collars but no leash. They were friendly but if someone is afraid of dogs, that wouldn’t be ideal. Still a 10/10 stay
When we arrived, there was no one in the main lobby but someone came pretty quickly.
However, at check-out no one ever came into the building and I just had to leave the key.
Also, we were given no complimentary bottled water in our room and that is one of the amenities listed.
We didn't spend too much time on the grounds. It was pretty clean, except a lot of dust under beds. (Sorry my shoe got kicked under).
The only other thing was that there was a concert Sat night. The attendees kind of trashed the bathrooms, as far as leaving toilet paper and paper towels on the floor. I feel bad that Rancho Moonrise employees had to deal with the mess they left, and don't blame them for it, but I feel that if they had larger trash cans, it would help.
Otherwise everything was great and would stay here again!
Very nice place for the cost.
Grass was very overgrown and you have to walk through it to get to your tent. No walkway..just mud and tall grass. Animal droppings in the tent. AC wouldn’t come on at first but maintenance man did get it fixed. He states that the AC is supposed to be turned on before we arrive but the girl up front failed to do so. Laid in bed to rest and wait for the tent to cool down. Scorpion crawls on my pillow only 3 inches from me. Had booked a 2 night stay but realized there was no way we could sleep there and left. Girl up front said she would try and get us a refund of which I never received. Never received a phone call or email. I have been tent camping many times in my life and thought I would really enjoy a safari tent but since their tents aren’t sealed at all it isn’t safe. Would not recommend at all.
Incredible property! 20 minutes to Austin but feels a world away, its amazing! The cabin was the coziest room. We were able to hang at the pool all day and watch the sunset from our porch. We booked this room last minute not knowing what to expect, and it was a 10/10. Highly recommend! Everyone who works there is so nice and the design of the property is so fun.
We really wanted to like this place and had looked forward to the experience. Unfortunately, first impressions are everything, and this place missed the mark. We were in Austin to attend a wedding at the Grand Lady. The day we arrived, we had planned to participate in pre-wedding festivities. Unfortunately, our Glamped Tent was more like an Indian sweat lodge. The AC had not been turned on by staff prior to our arrival, which from a customer service perspective, is a basic courtesy given it was 90 degrees. Initially, we thought we weren't operating the remote correctly & requested help from the front desk. Ashley rather smugly explained it was user error. We tried again & again no cold air emerged from the AC unit. We finally gave up & requested a tent with working AC. Rather than offer options, Ashley condescendingly said she would give us a refund but since we'd booked through Expedia, it would take several days to process. We explained we needed accommodations for a wedding event & since we'd brought our puppy, we had no idea where else to go. Despite the bumpy start, we wanted to enjoy Rancho Moonrise & asked if there were other options onsite. Ultimately, we were placed in another Glamp Tent with working AC. Unclear why we had to work so hard for that, but we made the most of it, despite no staff onsite the rest of our stay. Given the nightly rate, we hope we aren't charged for the stale uneaten bag of chips we opened before realizing they were a year old!

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Stayed 3 nights. Never saw any staff. They had a concert on saturday night and didnt observe the quiet hours after 10pm they require from guests. Folks that were at the sat night concert in the property used the same bathrooms available to us which were nasty the next morning w/ toilet paper on the floor and they never cleaned it. 2 out of the 3 bathrooms were out of conditioner that never got refilled. Bathroom doors have gaps so no privacy. Bathrooms are also open on top and under the doors and with temperatures on the 50Fs and windy it was brutal to shower or use the bathroom. There was always bugs in the bathrooms as it is in the open. Cabins were ok, mattress not that comfortable. No wifi anywhere so I am not sure what they call public areas with wifi. Parking is far from where the cabins are and when they had the concert on sat there was no parking available when we arrived in the evening. They allowed us to park at a different area. Coffee shop? There wasn't any in the mornings when we got up and we went have coffee somewhere else. The property is pretty but management is absent and we felt neglected.
The manager called me :30 before she was leaving and offered a $55 upgrade to a tent that had running water. The tent looked less quiet so kept the cabin . The cabin had no water - and no fridge , which was not disclosed . All of our food went bad and huge inconvenience. All these , “ bars” around the property with no fridge , ice , or coolers. Never saw one person from management during the stay.
