"Construction work was going on , we were not notified, only one restaurant open, and only one bar as well. Limited choices of food. Room service charged $25, which is high considering no choice of restaurants. Taxi to town was $40. It was mentioned that this is an adult only resort. In low season we saw many families. Avoid in low season. Not worth the price tag. Found lots of other similar priorities in the area with cheaper price tag."

ECOTICA Boutique Hotel & Spa.

10/10 Excellent

"It was our first time in Costa Rica, I randomly chose the Ecoteca, and it looks like I got lucky. The property located almost in the Emanuel Antonio national park and also it's very close to the beach, like 5 min drive -20 min walk. Our rooms were very clean and the design of the rooms is so natural. All of the beds are made from real wood,, the tables etc. Once we went to grab some lunch at the pool cafe La Poza we ran into monkeys, sherengas(capibara cousins ). We saw a family of raccoons , we saw macaws . It was a real wonderful experience. I also liked that communication with staff was via WhatsApp it was so convenient and very responsive. All of the staff at the hotel are so nice and so eager to give advice about the places to see and to visit. My family and I we loved Ecoteca and we strongly recommend it ! We will be back again !"

"This hotel is in the IDEAL location. Convenience: Right next to the park entrance-which is great for going into the park, but also coming back when you are hot and sandy. If you want to shop souvenirs, no need to go farther than a stones throw away. There is also a private access tunnel to the beach, which, while still a small walk away, was very convenient and we made use of it many times. Staff: When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and with delicious natural fruit drinks. We arrived early and were accommodated with an early check-in. Over the course of our stay the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond many times. My husband was not feeling well and one of the staff,Kevin, noticed and offered to make a hydration drink so he could get back on his feet. I can't say enough about how grateful I am to him and how friendly he was in the days after when seeing him around the hotel. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Premises: some of the hotel is dated, but many parts are also renovated-the bathroom in the rooms, for example. But one thing that was always apparent was how clean everything was. The pool especially was an area where you could feel how clean the floor was. Fresh towels and etc were quickly replaced, and there were thoughtful touches that felt nice. The room itself had everything you needed and plenty of space. For the price, location and service, it's hard to beat this place. Food: is decent and in large portions."
