There's plenty to discover in Arromanches, including the art port, the Liberation Museum and the 360° circular cinema, which retraces this historic event. Use the base to explore not only the historic sites of the Allied landings and their beaches, but also the easily accessible Omaha Beach. Bayeux, a medieval town with half-timbered houses, is within easy reach. Visit the world-famous Bayeux Tapestry there. Other highlights that you can experience on a day trip are the Mémorial de Caen and Mont-Saint-Michel.
