Excellent period home with great amenities and better yet an amazing energy. The location in the Davis Mountains is breathtaking. Wish we could live here!
We rented Dixon House as we were in Marfa for our daughters wedding. The home was just wonderful. Plenty of room for all family members. Kitchen fully stocked with dishes and cookware. Clean bedrooms and roomy bathrooms.
Our experience was top notch and would recommend to others with full faith yours will be as well.
The perfect group home for our design team’s visit to Marfa. We had plenty of community team building time in the open downstairs dining/living area, the kitchen was well stocked with lots of items, there was time in the tv room watching NBA and hockey, an outdoor grille and long table where we cooked a steak meal for everyone, and a fire pit to hang around late into the evening watching the stars and the trains go by. And after all of that, everyone had their own private bedroom to decompress from a long day of activities. Morning dawn the next morning from the second floor deck was also great!
We had a great time staying at the Dickson House for a girls trip. The house is roomy and easily accommodated 13 of us. The kitchen was great for the meals we cooked in and the house is an easy walk to the historic downtown part of Marfa. Lovely place to hang out!
This was one of the most stunning homes I’ve stayed in and just the most well designed and beautiful properties I’ve stayed at in Marfa. It was the perfect stay for a weekend girls trip and had so much space, enough bathrooms and floor length mirrors and tons of seating. I’m a frequenter to Marfa and we definitely will be staying here next time we have a large group!
We stayed here for Spring Break with a large group (2 families - 4 adults, 7 kids). This house was even better than it looked in pictures! Beds were cozy, bathrooms were updated and stocked with products (shampoo, conditioner, hand wash) and kitchen had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again if I was coming to Marfa with a big group.
We love Marfa and have been taking our kids yearly since they were little. We love the drive out, big stars, and deep breaths. The Dickson House was beautiful, had everything we could possibly want, and provided space and comfort in a nurturing way. We will be back to the Dickson House. Thank you!
We had a big group of friends rent the main home and Casita. There were 12 of us. All men. The place was perfect for our group. Beautiful home and super cute Casita. The host was outstanding. Property and host are definitely 10 out of 10's
Having wanted to visit West Texas for many years now I considered staying at a couple of different places but with 7 of us in the party that didn’t seem reasonable. Then when I looked up the various destinations and realized how close they were to Marfa, I crossed my fingers when checking VRBO for a place big enough to house all of us and found the Dickson House. An old farm house updated with a modern interior it was very roomy and comfortable. We will definitely recommend to others and hope to return ourselves some day!
Christmas break vacation with adult children and family. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations. The location was perfect for all the adventures we had planned. One day at Big Bend, one day at Chihuahuan Desert Nature and Botanical Gardens, and one day at Fort Davis/McDonald Observatory. Instagrammable moments were also important - we went to the "Prada" store, shopping downtown Marfa and Alpine, and Marfa Burritos. Everyone had their own space. The big table in the dining room was perfect for games and puzzles. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment to feed the whole group. Heard from kids, "This place is awesome!" The firepit and barbeque pit were also used on our trip. We loved everything.
House had all amenities and supplies you would want and more. Large and comfortable for a large group. Property management was responsive and helpful. Recommended.
