We really enjoyed our stay at the Fort Road Hotel. The room was lovely and the hotel has a great look and feel with beautiful art throughout. Fantastic location near the Turner and lots of great restaurants. The only small downside was not being told much about amenities like bar hours, the rooftop (which was closed), or how breakfast works. Otherwise, everything was great and we’d definitely stay again.
Very nice hotel, with a green feel to it. The room smelt fresh upon arrival and we even got a little complimentary welcome cookie. Good service and a very nice roof top view.
Really nice place with excellent staff who really make you feel welcome. The food in the restaurant was first class and, although very busy, the staff worked wonders to get everyone seated and served promptly.
Lovely view, fabulous bedding, comfortable beds, original artwork, locally sourced soaps and handwashes etc.
Also enjoyed our meal in the restaurant very much.
Excellent hotel. Everything is well laid out and perfectly furnished from the elegant bathrooms to the welcoming rooms. Even the stairs are perfect with their quality wooden flooring. The whole building has a good feel to it.
All the staff were superb. Warm, welcoming and helpful.
The voucher for a cocktail in the basement bar was a delightful surprise. The basement bar with its Saturday DJ may be catering for the younger generation, but it was great fun, even for us with only few grey hairs left. Again the bar staff were spot on.
An excellent hotel. If I ever have to stay in Margate again, then 100% the Fort Road Hotel would be my immediate number 1 choice.
I have to wanted to stay at this hotel for a while and visiting friends this weekend was the perfect opportunity. It did not disappoint; beautifully designed, warm welcoming service and excellent coffee!
Lovely staff and a fantastic location – beautiful rooms at a very fair price. Went above and beyond during our stay to handle bags, flexible check-in and a minimum of fussy paperwork all handled digitally in advance. We'll be back!
The receptionist was very helpful when I checked in. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are well decorated and comfortable. The cookies were a great idea!
We had a nice stay at Fort Road Hotel. Our room was newly renovated and well decorated, and the staff were helpful. The hotel is well located in Margate, and the breakfast buffet was lovely. It is a nice hotel, but the lack of air conditioning meant that the room did get quite stuffy. There also wasn't enough ventilation in the bathroom, so the whole room got misty after a shower. The shower screen is also slightly too small, so water does tend to get all over the floor. Our room was on the first floor with a partial sea view, but there were windows from the adjacent building that look directly into our room, and our window only had cafe curtains covering the bottom half of the window. For privacy, we needed to close the curtains completely, blocking the light. Some lighter curtains for privacy would have been nice. We enjoyed our stay, but for the price I was hoping not to have to think about some of these issues.
