"We had a fantastic stay at The Rival Hotel. This beautifully restored Art Deco hotel, owned by Benny Andersson of ABBA, perfectly blends character with modern comfort. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A real highlight was the large windows that could actually be opened, letting in plenty of fresh air—a feature that’s surprisingly rare and much appreciated. "We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was a huge plus. A good Scandinavian selection, and tasty. We were a little nervous not having our own bathroom, but it wasn't really an issue. Each bathroom had a shower, toilet, and sink and locked. They seemed to be cleaned multiple times a day. This was a great location to walk to Gamla Stan or to the ferry for the Vasa museum. Lots of cafes and grocery stores nearby. Would stay here again!"

"The room was clean, but I was very disappointed with my stay. The room was a semi-basement room with a shared bathroom, which was not clearly described on the booking platform. When we arrived, the window was left open. Because it was positioned very high, my husband and I, both in our 70s, could not reach it. The open window affected our sleep and comfort for two nights. "Location of the hotel and staff were both excellent. Room was small but cosy and it certainty provided an unusual and different experience for a short stay. Beds were comfortable and fully met our needs for a 3 night stay."
