"It’s what they can do on this site. Stairs, modest rooms. Breakfast and Dinner were underwhelming but staff friendly. For your visit to the island arrive late afternoon, stay overnight, see the Abbey when it opens and that’s it. Day tripping not advised due to huge crowds. "

"This was a charming hotel just outside of Mont St Michel. Easy driving distance to the parking area to catch the free bus. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and we drove into the little town for supper. We’re treated to a surprising show in the morning, a herd of sheep being moved to a pasture right outside our window…could have reached out and touched them. Beautiful view of Le Mont St Michel in the distance."

"Our stay at Les Vieilles Digues was fantastic! Sebastien and Sonia were warm, welcoming hosts and the breakfast they prepared each morning was absolutely delicious - a fresh pastry served alongside a buffet of breakfast foods of great variety and high quality (muesli, coffee, tea, fruit, freshly made pancakes, yoghurt, bread, conserves etc.) which really set us up for a day of sightseeing in Mont Saint Michel! Our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped - the tea and coffee machine in the room was a fantastic touch too! Parking was safe and very convenient being on-site. It was a short drive to the Mont Saint Michel carpark before hopping on to the free shuttle buses to the abbey. If you are looking for somewhere safe, welcoming, comfortable and close to Mont Saint Michel without being in the thick of the tourists (also allowing easy exploration of other nearby villages including Beauvoir) then this is the perfect place for you! "It was a difficult hotel to find, it did not have a sign hanging out over the street like many of the other establishments had. I don't understand why the restaurant was not in use, we had to dine at a different location. This was not a problem, just another odditie in this already odd experience. The room and bathroom were both clean. The stairwell was very narrow. I suppose all in all it was a quant visit, but not unpleasant."
