"Located right on the harbour, and with a harbour view room was special. The pub itself is very busy, so book dinner if you wish to dine there. Dinner food was great and also the breakfast. There was some Pub noise outside on a Sat night, but not too late. Parking in free council carpark, or street if lucky was easy. Walk to Donnottar Castle out and back from village was excellent. 7 km return. You can also drive to Castle parking lot. Stonehaven was a lovely place to stay."

"The room we had was big, plenty storage and seating. The bathroom was nice with a large bath. The complimentary jar of sweets/choc was a nice touch. Staff were friendly and approachable. Bar staff very knowledgeable about the drinks on offer. Food was really good. Hotel had a very relaxed feeling about it, nice lounge area to air and enjoy drinks. "

"Amazing stay. Historic house set in beautiful grounds. Amazing that they allow dogs also in such a nice place. Fantastic sand beaches right next to the hotel. Service was excellent, really enjoyed my stay and would stay again. Breakfast was delicious…. Best hotel breakfast I’ve had. An EV car charging point would make this hotel even better as there’s hardly any around in the area and would be great for over night guests to charge whilst there. "

"Sheila and Mick were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were great, the room was simple but clean and perfect for a single traveler. I dropped my wallet outside the car and 2 people got it inside to Mick for safekeeping! I hope to be back next year!"

"Great room at the top of the building, the shower was really good. Breakfast was continental and a brilliant start to the day. Room was cleaned every day and wifi was great. If you have trouble with stairs ask for room 7 on the ground floor."
