Quality Inn & Suites Memphis East

2/10 Terrible

"We had a very unpleasant experience at this place. The environment felt dirty and poorly maintained, had to wait for a front desk person and we did not feel safe while we were there. There were several people lingering around the property who looked to be using, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and unsettling. We Had someone stop at the side door and wave us to their car we ran to what was suppose to be our room to find the door was wide open with a hanger stuck in the top of the door to hold it open the hallways had stuff all over making it a fall hazard. On top of that, the smell throughout the area was overwhelming — strong cigarette smoke mixed with other unpleasant odors. We ran back to our car and left tried to call To check out couldn’t get through to anyone. This place doesn’t even deserve one star if I could leave no stars I would. Overall, it was not a welcoming or secure environment, and we would not feel comfortable returning."

"The air conditioner in the room was extremely filthy and very loud. I could barely see the buttons to adjust the settings or even turn the unit off properly, and eventually had to unplug it because of the noise. The deadbolt lock on the door was broken, which raised concerns about safety and security. The bathtub also needs attention, including repainting, along with several areas on the walls that appeared worn and poorly maintained. In addition, every time I make reservations, I specifically request a ground-floor room away from the highway. Unfortunately, it seems that request is never honored, and I consistently end up on the top floor facing the highway instead. This has become frustrating, especially since the preference is requested in advance each stay. Overall, the condition of the room and the repeated disregard of reservation preferences made this stay disappointing."

"Pros: location is great, easy on and off the interstate. Lots of food options and some walka le nearby. Staff excellent, friendly and accommodating. Cons: room smelled musty, room was on the side of the highway and it was LOUD! Ask for a room away from the highway. AC was LOUD and ran all night so I'm thinking wasn't efficient which may have been why it was so loud? Louder than your average hotel AC but at least it worked I guess. I would not stay here again just because of the traffic noise unless I knew I could get a room away from the highway since it.seemes like the noise was coming thru the window."

"The hotel was clean and comfortable, but the front desk was not friendly when we arrived. They did not offer a friendly greeting or make me feel at all welcome. They said nothing about the where anything was in the hotel and then rudely pointed me in the right direction when I clearly couldn't find the elevators. I wouldn't stay there again."
