We were provided exceptional service from Kumara, Rasika,Thilina, Sehan yasmka and chef sujith. They were friendly and kind, and the food prepared by chef Sujith was so so delicious — authentic Sri Lankan food to innovative new creations, he can do it all. "Easy to find on the main road. Hosts daughter who checked me in and showed me around was very friendly. Although travelling solo, I had booked their largest room with kitchenette and it was great. Spacious, very clean, had a small balcony along one side but you could leave your room and sit on the huge upstairs balcony with comfy chairs too. Bathroom was very clean, hot water on demand and the shower was lovely with good pressure. A fridge in the room together with kettle, coffee percolator and kitchen essentials if you wanted to have something to eat in the room. Bed was large and very comfortable, good AC and ceiling fan. I believe I was the only guest staying during my 3 days. I had breakfast their once which was served on the 1st floor balcony, I had asked for specifics and all was accommodated. The beach is across the road, literally walk about 200m. Bus stop to Galle is 20m away whilst going in the other direction it's about 80m away. The property is about 5 mins walk to the street leading to all the cafes, restaurants etc or even closer if you go via the beach. The wine store is about 500m down the road if you wanted to store up on beer. The family were all extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely stay at Sam's again and would thoroughly recommend to others."

"This is an amazing resort with amazing ambiance and staff, direct access to the beach and a beautiful pool, we had 5 days of heaven in a villa and could not ask for anything better, everyone soo helpful and welcoming, bed super comfortable, food delicious, very central to tuk tuk around to the beaches to explore, great restaurants around and loved every moment there"

"Had to wait over an hour past posted check in time. Was told some story about the AC, but, seems it was housekeeping as the floors were wet when we finally checked in. Room was run down..biggest issue was that neither of the two showers drained properly. In fact, sewage came up and created an offensive odor. This was reported to the front desk and repairs were attempted, but not done properly. So, the room still smelled BAD. Also, the workman left a BIG mess. I had to go to the front desk to ask to have it cleaned. While the manager was interested in our stay, all he did was provide a late day fruit plate! No thanks. Avoid this place. It is over priced for what you get. One of my worst stays ever."
