"The motel is next to autostrada. The breakfast very poor and offered in the cafeteria in the basement with lots of visitors, which makes service extremely difficult."

"If you're debating whether to visit Matera as a day trip or stay overnight, this hotel alone is reason enough to stay. We loved every moment and would return in a heartbeat.
Sextantio Le Grotte Della Civita in Matera was one of the most unique and unforgettable hotels we've ever stayed in. The property is a beautifully restored series of caves that blend old-world charm with just the right amount of modern comfort, making you feel like you've stepped back in time while still having everything you need. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay.. from arranging pickup at the parking garage to carrying our luggage to our room, to being incredibly communicative before and during our visit.
Dinner and breakfast at the on-site restaurant were both stunning, and after five trips to Italy, we can honestly say the breakfast spread and setting here might be the best we've ever had in the country. - Matt & Monique"
"Staff was very helpful in all matters from setting up dinner reservations and in room massages to immediate attention to equipment malfunction we experienced. We did the private suite with pool, sauna, and steam shower in room and it was amazing! Once in a lifetime experience!in room"
"We are traveling across Italy staying only at Relias and Chateaux hotels. Vetera Matera set the bar high as our first stop!
They upgraded us to a beautiful suite. The customer service was unmatched and the included breakfast was ironically our favorite meal in Matera.
Highly recommend staying here!"
"The view from the door entrance was outstanding probably the best part of this hotel. Breakfast was also great with good and plenty to choose from. Didn't know the spa was separately charged so cannot say it was a great feature. Wifi could be better. We walked down to the hotel but suggest to ask for the shuttle which was very nice."
