It is very tastefully furnished with antiques which have been lovingly restored. Dora was very kind and communication with her was excellent. She left us a lovely welcome hamper of local food. "The place is beautiful, in a great location, private and secluded, with nice amenities such as hot tubs, pool, wood BBQ. It looks just like the pictures and overall, we enjoyed our stay. But, - very limited hot water. Takes long to warm up and then only lasts 5 minutes. Not enough for 2 showers. We could only fill the amazing bath up a few inches before it got cold, so kind of useless. - lots of ants, and when we complained, we were told to deal with it ourselves - there was a birds nest...

"Von den 4 Unterkünften, die wir in diesem Urlaub auf den Azoren hatten, ist dies die Einzige, die wir nicht empfehlen können. Als wir ankamen (Anfang Mai) waren die Temperaturen zwischen 11 und 17 Grad, mit wenigen sonnigen Abschnitten und dann höheren Temperaturen. Das Haus verfügt über keine Heizung, dementsprechend war die Temperatur im Inneren bei 16 Grad und über 80% Luftfeuchtigkeit. Die Wohnung war also kalt und klamm, in den Schränken und Kommoden riecht es modrig. Erst auf Nachfrage...

"Situated a 10 minute walk from Madalena, this hotel is peaceful and tranquil. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable, and we were allowed to check out at the later time of 1.30pm without incurring extra costs (€50 thereafter). We couldn’t book a public taxi through the hotel for the airport run, so used their transfer service (€22 for a 20 minute journey). Good breakfasts and restaurant looked nice, but we chose to eat in local restaurants."

"The hotel was well located close to everything. The room was a big ions but the bed was confortable and quiet. When we entered our room the first day the fridge was not working but they changed our room. The breakfast buffet was included. The first 4 mornings it was good with all you need but the last day it was awfull, no yogourt, many things were missing so it left us with a mixed feeling. So this is why our review is not better."

"A very nice hotel in a great location. Close to the port, however be prepared for a steep climb or a 15 min walk around. The staff were awesome and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was good. The dinner buffet was also good, but make a reservation. The pool area and bar/restaurant were excellent. Joao was very nice and courteous.The cons are the beds..... Extremely hard and firm... A/c in the rooms is not good either.Not enjoyable. We were a multigenerational family of 6. Seniors to teenagers."
