Dufur is a very small old rural historical town in, what some would call, the middle of nowhere. If you want seclusion and enjoy country walks or bike rides and meeting really interesting people the Balch Hotel is for you as it was for us. The people really are fantastic. Debr helped us with a sticky situation because of some booking confusion and I can't say enough about her spirit of problem solving and meeting her customers need"
