Cozy Fireside Cabin, Great for Couples, Families and Outdoorsmen!

A peaceful cabin retreat in the Hocking Hills region in southeast Ohio. The cabin is nestled on nearly one acre and directly beside the 26,000 acre Zaleski State Forest surrounding Lake Hope in Vinton County. This secluded cabin offers natural serenity and is a perfect place to get away and unplug. Enjoy a relaxing covered front porch, a warm outdoor fire or a walk in the woods. This cabin consists of two bedrooms, a living room with a tv, a well equipped kitchen and a full bathroom (all linens included). The rustic decor compliments the cabin's comfy and cozy feel. Because our cabin is centrally located between Athens, Hocking and Vinton counties, you have plenty of recreation at your disposal.
Please Note:
Please be aware there is no WIFI, we encourage you to enjoy and unplug.
The cabin is not child proof, please watch children closely.
The spiral staircase is the only access point to the loft bedroom, a few guests have found it narrow, please refer to pictures is you are concerned.
Firewood is NOT provided, but can be purchased locally.

-20 minutes to Lake Hope State Park, swim, paddleboard, canoe, kayak and more!
-20 Minutes to Lake Hope Lodge-great food and atmosphere!
-10 Minutes to Zaleski Shooting Range.
-20 minutes to Lake Snowden- fish, swim, boat and even enjoy a inflatable water park!
-Within Zaleski State Forest is horseback riding trails and numerous hiking Trails as well as hunting.
-Raccoon Creek Canoe Livery is just minutes away.

Cabin was everything we needed. Great for kids, I liked the secluded location however my kids did not like the added driving to hocking hills that came with that. Benefit however was being close to lake Hope which has lots to offer.

Relaxing and beautiful

As soon as we pulled up to the cabin we were impressed. Beautiful property in the woods, inside the cabin was super cute and welcoming. Very clean with all kinds of comforts of home.

Quiet place in the woods

Enjoyed our time here! Communication was good, property was as expected, lovely secluded setting- just what we like. Very easy access and comfortable digs. It’s a 40 minute drive to the Hocking Hills Visitor Center but it’s a pretty drive- lots to see in between.

Quiet, clean, cute cabin

Cute, comfortable cabin for family of 5 with older children. Loved having so much privacy when out by the fire at night- just the sounds of nature. Great price and totally worth it if you don’t mind having to drive 30 minutes to all the tourist attractions. Would definitely stay again!

Great location

Perfect spot for our Hocking Hills hiking trip. Loved the fire pit great place to relax after our adventures. Great little pizza place less than 10 miles away. Only complaint not enough toilet paper lol. Two rolls 4 adults 4 days didn’t cut it. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing weekend!

We had an amazing weekend! We had planned on taking the kids on a few outings but when we got there we decided to stay put! We played board games, enjoyed the outdoor fire area and just played games outside as a family. No electronics were even asked for :) Cabin was spotless amd had everything we needed. We will be back for sure. Without the kids and with :)

Would rate a 5 BUT

So to start, if you are an outdoors person this cabin is great! this Cabin is amazing, gorgeous and the inside is well cleaned! ….BUT if you HATE spiders, I would book else where. Spiders all over the doors, the outdoor chairs, windows just everywhere. we couldn’t walk in and out of the door without another spider hanging or crawling.

Raging storms didn’t stop the show

Everything as advertised. I went with a few old college buddies to hike Ash Cave to Old Man’s Cave, arriving in the throes of some crazy rain and wind. We lost power that night and while we were away half a day hiking on Saturday. A third of the county lost it. Can only chalk that up to chance and the owner was gracious enough to look into it and get updates. It did not impact the fun we had in any major way. We made do with headlamps as a little lighting and it ironically we may have had better conversation all the more for it. As for the property, it is about a thirty minute drive to those caves priorly mentioned, but there are also so many attractions along the way in all directions. McArthur town is quaint but also has a good restaurant for us to visit Saturday. Local, good and cheap. Sleeping arrangements worked out well for four bigger dudes. It has tons of entertainment choices but we stuck to good ole fun and a fire on Saturday night in a nice pit a dozen steps from the house. Highly recommended.

Great vacation place

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin.It was a bit out of the way for hiking at Hocking hills… the trails are 30-50 minutes drive away, but definitely worth the drive and stay.

You get what you pay for

While the cabin served our needs as a place to stay for the Hocking Hills Winter Hike, the 2 biggest issues for us were filthy blinds and broken blind on the ground level bedroom so anyone driving down the road or walking up to the cabin had a clear view into the bedroom. And the septic system bangs so loud any time you flush or use a sink, it sounds like King Kong approaching.
