"I am really disappointed in Expedia's rating of 8.6 - Excellent. Bryson Inn has a low price, but... We had reserved 2 nights and we checked in, staff was OK, and I carried all of our bags up the stairs to our room. When we opened the door we could see big stains on the carpet and the room had 2 upholstered chairs that were also very stained. The bed looked old, but the cover looked clean, but when I sat on the edge of the bed I could feel the springs, it was very uncomfortable. I went into the bathroom and there was toilet paper floating in the toilet already. My wife told me we were not staying there so we promptly went to the office to check out but since we had went in the room there was no refund, but we were OK with that just to leave. One other thing, the location is OK if you are passing through town on the hiway and don't plan to go into town, but it is out of town a bit and it is a 15 minute drive if you want to go to the downtown attractions like the Andy Griffith museum."
