"The room was spacious with two full length windows facing outwards to the front of the property. The bathroom had a modern walk in shower that was easy to use. Beds were comfortable, and room had a large wardrobe, fridge, television and a safe. It was over 36 deg outside and there was no air conditioning in the room. A large fan was in the room and it was running constantly while we were there. It helped a bit !
The restaurant was excellent with a good menu and wide selection of drinks. Breakfast was included and offered a variety of options from cereals to cold meats, pastries, tea, coffee and fruit juices.
Staff were wonderful. There are plenty of parking spaces and also includes an underground parking area that holds approx 12 cars below the property. We parked there.
Within 2 mins walk is the Manzell regional railway station and we caught the train in to Friedrichshafen each day. With the supplied free local transport vouchers we used public transport the whole duration of our stay and did not use our car. Its about a 7 min train ride to Friedrichshafen. We used the same tickets for discounts at the Zeppelin Museum as well as the BSB Ferry to Romanshorn Switzerland.
There is a Kaufman Supermarket within a 10 min walk from the hotel and a nice coffee shop/bakers (Brot and Bruder) 5 mins walk away.
Would recommend the Waldhorn hotel to anyone staying in the area. Despite the heatwave and no air-conditioning we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
