Took a bit of a hiatus recently to go to #japan and it was everything I dreamed and more. Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys 💙. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality! (Tip: many more trekking routes are open in summer that wouldn't usually be accessible).

"This facility is suitable for relaxing all the time with big outside bathtub and quiet room. We could stay in safe and really enjoy all of the time. "白馬五竜でのスキーでお世話になりました。2名で利用しましたが、部屋が広くて建物もメンテナンスされているようで、快適に過ごす事ができました。朝食は食べきれない程の量で、お料理自体もとても美味しいものでついつい食べ過ぎて、自業自得ですが朝食後の運動がしんどかったです。。。２泊目が寒かったせいか、床暖房の温度が暖か過ぎて夜中に暑くて起きてしまいましたが、それ以外は大満足です。オーナーさんも気さくな方で、話しやすくて滞在中はとても安心でした。忙しい中バス停までの送迎もして頂き、とても助かりました。五竜へ行く際は、またお世話になりたいと思います。"
