Olivia Balmes Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"First time in Barcelona and we loved the location of this hotel. It's located near many shops and restaurants and it was easy to walk to major tourist spots. Staff is super friendly and room was clean and modern. Great place to stay! Breakfast was delicious and they rotated food options daily, so breakfast doesn't get boring. Would recommend to couples, families, and solo travelers."

"The hotel is old but well located with all the amenities needed within walk distance. Good transport connections too. The air conditioning stopped working in my room but the staff were very helpful and I was promptly moved to another. The breakfast was very basic but filling. The location is main selling point, right in the heart of La Rambla."

"The hotel is very nice! The room was spacious & the bathroom was great. The windows have electric shutters type covering so you can black out all the light if you wanted to. The only drawback that we experienced was that the AC in the room rarely went below 71.6 degrees. We would leave the shutter closed all day while we were out and the AC would go down only to 71. Once you take a shower and are in the room for 10 minutes, that’s it, back up to 71.6 or even 72. The hotel lobby was also hot. It just literally felt like there was no AC running. Coming in from the outside you expect or hope to be somewhat refreshed but it was not cool. It took me 30 minutes to stop sweating and even after, it was still “room temperature” We were only here for 3 nights but if it would have been longer, I think it would have been a problem. Other than that it was great. The rooftop pool & terrace were awesome. Overall I would recommend just warn about the air."
