"The room was a reasonable size with a king size bed and a small en suite. However, we found a large stain (possibly blood) on the corner of the mattress topper. We also found one of the windows couldn't be open due to it having parcel tape stuck over window and frame. This looked messy and botched. It was a cold room and when we went to turn the radiators on they were filthy with dust and debris in the grills!! We complained to the receptionists who immediately arranged to move us to another...

"Great location, excellent value for money"

"Stay spoiled by very loud neighbours from 6:30am. Suppose that is. Ot the hotels fault but the walls are paper thin"

"Free car parking! Easy to find , nice modern bedroom , shower ,tv , coffee tea etc , We managed to get the key early , Breakfast was Cooked freshly for us ."

"We stayed one night as a stopover on our way home to Scotland. We had a superior double room in the lodge part of the hotel. Stunning room. Very spacious even with what looked like a super king bed. Lovely to have the little terrace space. Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and excellent breakfast in the morning. Loved the different options to normal offerings with overnight oats and yoghurt smoothies. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely dog friendly hotel which we’d love to...

"There was plenty room to park and the staff were welcoming and polite. Having booked a superior room we were disappointed that we had been allocated an attic bedroom with a small very window. Although the room itself was quite large the plaster and paint work was in need of some restoration. With regards to breakfast, it was ‘over complicated’ it would have been much easier to have a menu and then choose what you want at the table. The food itself self was too fancy just serve good quality...

"great stay as usual."

"We were here for a wedding. Everything ran like clockwork and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. One word of warning, if you have mobility issues make sure you are on a floor serviced by a lift"

"Staff were vthe best breakfast was amazing"

"The car park is quite far from reception and all the signs don’t really make sense. Check in was handing me a key after having to call a mobile number that had been left on the desk. No further information like how to get to the room and breakfast. Room was really far away and I had to carry lots of personal items and was a struggle. I paid for late check out to midday and had people knocking on the door at 10.30 asking why I was still in room. Room was clean, slept well and lounges at...

"Location"

"Overall atmosphere was one of the best experienced. A 3 night stop. A busy , successful country pub, restaurant, party venue does create a few problems of wear. Which will need addressing fairly soon. Certainly recommend."

"Absolute gem of a place to stay. Gorgeous room with everything you need & so peaceful. The food was really good both for dinner & breakfast. We visited Fountains Abbey which was only 2 miles away. And we could do parkrun with plenty of time to get back before checkout & eat breakfast. Would love to return."
