CONVENIENCES: We inventory our items and set out what we feel include and understand is needed for a stay the length of yours. If you need additional items and find some onsite, please just leave a note that you used it so we can adjust accordingly. This is so we can adequately supply items such as toilet paper, laundry soap, dish soap, coffee and other conveniences to our guests and maintain a reasonable rate. Items such as paper plates and condiments are left at a convenience for you, but are not something we normally stock/restock. We appreciate your understanding in this.
HEATING/COOLING: If you are staying during a time in which you need to use the heat, please note that the main and second level of the house use the thermostat in the dining room. However, in the upper (3rd) level, it has it's own heating (baseboard) and cooling (window ac). There is a switch by the window ac to turn it from either heating or cooling. In addition, the baseboard temp is located near the AC unit as well (it runs all the baseboard heating in the upper level). Please also realize that it may take a bit to warm up/cool down the property. If you are using the heat, please be cognizant and aware of this and prior to leaving during the months of November to May, please turn the temps to 64'. If renting spring/summer please place cooling at 74' prior to vacating. This again, allows us to provide you the opportunity to use the these at your will while here without putting undue items on them like locks and presets.
CLEANING: Unfortunately, it has to be said, and we mean this in the nicest way possible... If the cleaner comes (after checkout time) and you are here, she will begin cleaning and notify us. At that time if you choose not to leave and stay on you may be charged an additional $50 for an hour for every hour in which you are past the check out time of 11am. Again, we appreciate your understanding and adherence to the policies set forth.

The house was as described, clean and comfortable. The location right by the lake and ferry was great. There were 10 in our group and we had plenty of room.
Spacious house, able to spread out with our group of 8. 3 bathrooms were nice to have. Nice big yard to set up badminton, short walk to playground and fishing along the lake.
Comfortable accommodations for 8 adults & 9 grandkids.
Quiet neighborhood, enjoyed a backyard campfire.
Easy drive to the Dells, Devils Lake, Baraboo.
Catholic Church right across the street!
Well stocked, comfortable home perfect for a group
Nice historical home with plenty of room and very well stocked! Kitchen had everything we needed from cooking oil to spices to coffee filters plus small appliances- even a waffle maker! There were plenty of towels and extra linens also. Would definitely stay again! Only issue was the door code not being set but once we reached the host it was resolved quickly.
There is more than enough beds for a group of 10 to have their own beds. The town is nice and quiet and it’s a 30 second walk to the nearest bar. We never felt on top of each other and were really comfortable in the house. I would go back!
Fourteen of us came from out of town for an extended family Christmas in Lodi. The space was perfect for us all. Our 6 grandkids enjoyed spending time together over the weekend in their "community bedroom" and all adults had their own private space. We had plenty of space to spend time together in the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Everything was clean and cozy. Christmas decor was a nice touch! House was perfect!!

Great location
Cleaner was still cleaning when we arrived.
Very poor response time from owner, if any response at all with questions or concerns.
The event space only had a few tables and chairs and still had trash from whenever it was used before. Front door knob fell off, kitchen faucet is broken and the upstairs bathroom blew a breaker so no electricity in that bathroom.
Otherwise the beds were comfy the house is beautiful and conveniently located for our event.
Great space for a family weekend. Lots of room to spread out, and a large living room area for us to spend time together. Kids, parents and grandparents -14 of us our first weekend stay in December. The house was nicely decorated for Christmas too (wonderful added bonus!!)

Great location & close to Devils Head. The house had plenty of space to separate but also big family room & dining room to all be together! Nice little details made it comfortable like plenty of nightlights & cozy blankets. The host took very long or not at all to respond. There was no main light in dining room so we couldn’t use the table after dark and the whole house had a musty smell.
Our family gets together every summer near Devil's Lake. This was convenient to DL and also Parfrey's Glen. The party house would have been great if the weather hadn't been so hot. It still was a nice addition. We had a great weekend.
I loved the vibe of this house. So much character and nicely updated. We loved walking to the ferry, the ice cream stand, and taking a ride across the lake. It was the perfect stay for our weekend trip to Baraboo and Devil’s Lake.

Disliked: Cleanliness
It is a gorgeous property but we found it to be very messy, the tables were dirty, the 3rd floor was very musty/mildew smelling, the floors were not clean, even the fridge was dirty. This was all very disappointing as this was my first time using VRBO and first time staying at this property and just felt gross staying there.

Disliked: Check-in
The host did not initially have our reservation so Was not able to checkin as they did not have the door coded and place had not been cleaned and ready for us. Eventually contacted her and she told us where the keys were (never did have the code in the door for our stay). Someone did come and clean and do laundry.

family ski trip
The property was fine, comfortable and pleasant. There was a lack of communication with the host. Access code was not corrected.
The house was great. Surprisingly quiet for such an old house. Spacious and clean. Things had been rearranged on the main floor (den and dining room swapped) which was different from the photos on here and disrupted our planned sleeping arrangements. Otherwise the house was comfortable and cute. The dumpster was almost full when we got there so we didn't know what to go with all our trash. We rented the event space and it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in over a year. Spider webs were everywhere and there was an unfinished construction project left behind in the space. We cleaned everything ourselves to prepare for our event, so I guess this might not be a problem for the next renters (you're welcome!)
Great location, home is adequately updated, and the kids had a blast having their own space in the attic. A dedicated A/C window unit for that room was also a nice touch. The reason for the poor rating is because of a large hornets nest that was remarked in a previous review and was still present by the time of our arrival. The nest was by the backdoor and nestled somewhere behind the siding. We had dozens of dead hornets fall into the interior back entryway after spraying into the hole(s) they were entering from the outside. Other hornets found their way inside (presumably from the same holes the dead ones fell from), and had one made its way upstairs to a bedroom where our baby was sleeping -- thankfully I found it before we put her down for bed.The owner was responsive and sent someone to caulk the holes after I messaged her during our stay. I'm certain the issue will be taken care of now and we'll be the last to have seen it. That said, I was disappointed we had to deal with the issue. My poor mother-in-law was stung 4-5 times outside while sweeping their path. We kept everyone away from that area as much as we could.Overall, we had a pleasant time but the hornets weren't
1st impression: what did I rent? The exterior of the house needs a paint job. Walking in the front door there was an overwhelming musty smell. Entering into the house the musty smell was less but still present. The inside of the house is beautiful. Old woodwork that you just don't see very often. Spacious and perfect for our large family. Back door there is a beehive in the walls from what we could tell. You could hear the humming of the bees when you stand in the back hall. We thankfully only had one bee sting. We rented the extra room so we could all eat together as a family however the "climate control" must only apply to the winter as there were heaters present but nothing for summer. It was hot and we could not use the space. The 2nd floor shower leaked into the first floor living room which thankfully we caught right away but it did bring us down to two showers and no tub for the littles to bathe in. I messaged the agent on Friday and Saturday to ask about where the garbage can was and to inform of the water leak and did not get a response until Sunday afternoon. We have stayed at many VRBO properties and have never had such a poor experience. The saving grace was the excellent water pressure and comfortable beds. At least we slept well.
