Amazing Place

We have an amazing experience staying in Casa de Canilhas. The owner is very accommodating. I highly recommend this place. Have a stunning view of the Douro Valley River.

Amazing in every way! Best view! Best helpful staff. We didn’t bring cash- forgot they don’t take cards Titianna was so helpful and patient. Best staff at any hotel I’ve been in- anywhere. PayPal did the trick. The breakfast was the best ever! View of the Douro from our table! Room was cozy. Great dining recommendation. We felt so taken care of there. It was by far, the best place we have stayed in Portugal! The home is beautiful as is everything. We didn’t want to leave.

Big, big deception. We had booked our trip in the Douro with a 2 night stay at what we thouht would be paradise por our anniversary. After check in, where we had to pay 270€ in cash since they did not accept cards, we were showed our room. Wow! Not at all what we expected or saw on pictures at reservation with cute flowers, view and terrace...It was a dark, damp, small and isolated room under a garage. When we spoke with Mr Victor the owner, he said: " The use of those pictures is Expedia's decision, you paid for a layout with one double bed and that's what you have. Their is nothing I will do for you"...rude.

Casa de Canilhas is the most beautiful property. Staying here was like a dream. The view of the Douro valley & river are breathtaking. The rooms have a rustic vineyard feel, but are beautifully upgraded with modern standards. The infinity pool was perfect temperature & overlooking the valley of grape vines. The daily breakfast was delicious and so fresh. More than enough. the staff was very pleasant & have the property in pristine condition and well maintained. I can’t wait to come back.

Such a wonderful place. We loved every minute. Its absolutely beautiful, has a refreshing pool and nearby restaurants. The picnic breakfast each morning, brought to your room in a basket was such a surprising treat.

Wonderful stay--highly recommend.

We had a most wonderful stay at Casa de Canilhas in the Douro Valley. Our room overlooked the Douro, we had lovely sunny weather, and sitting on the balcony was so peaceful. We walked into town for dinner one evening and bought food at the grocery to eat on the balcony the second evening. Most highly recommend.

Casa de Canilhas is a tucked away treasure in the heart of the Douro valley. A bit hard to find at first but once you're there it's worth a visit. There are no common indoor areas so you stay in your room or on a private terrace but can share the gorgeous outdoor pool. Breakfast is served to you in your room. Unfortunately, there was work being done in the building next to my casita: the noise and radio started at 8 AM which detracted from the peace and magic of the area

Great little place!

Loved the views frim our terrace, and our picnic breakfasts were just perfect. Its a little off the beaten track, but worth the drive.
