The apartment is very comfortable, on a quiet street, but near everything you could want. Within a ten minute walk are endless options for eating and drinking, or if you want to cook for yourself, there’s a nice grocery store and a public market just minutes away. Loads of public transportation options nearby for all your sightseeing, or walk the tree-lined streets about a mile to La Reforma. Mario as a host goes above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to CDMX.
Comfortable 2 bedroom, lots of amenities and easy walking distance to sites / restaurants
Great property and incredible hosts ! Went out of their way to make sure our stay was excellent- Even picking us up after we were let off at the wrong location, meeting in person, showing us the place and how to operate everything, gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations, and were helpful and so kind. Fully stocked - coffee/espresso/tea provided, everything needed to cook meals, and comfortable beds (2 bedrooms !) 2bath. The location is vibrant and centrally located, which is fantastic for exploring the area. That said, some street noise is noticeable, especially at night—light sleepers might want to bring earplugs just in case. Otherwise, the stay was superbly comfortable and very convenient! Would return ! Thank you for a lovely stay.
Overall: recommend. Pros of this apt: The area/neighborhood is extremely quiet and pretty, the building and apartment are very clean, Mario and Caro sent us some great restaurant recommendations in the area, there is 24/7 security and we felt very safe, the beds are comfortable, and the showers are top notch. They even had drinking water in the fridge and snacks on the counter when we arrived. The washer and dryer were a huge bonus. We had no complaints during our stay. Cons: I’d like to gently suggest to the hosts that many travelers, especially those arriving from other countries, would feel better if they knew what the check-in process will look like at least 24 hours in advance. I let the hosts know over a week in advance that we would be arriving in CDMX around midnight, and I received a prompt response saying they like to greet guests in person where possible, but sometimes can’t due to timing, and they’d let me know. I asked the morning of our arrival what the plan was, and they said they would get back to me in a few moments. I had not received a response by the time I arrived at my layover airport hours later, so I once again asked for check-in info. I then got detailed information about checking in, and all went smoothly from there. I noticed another reviewer had a similar experience, so wanted to share mine as well. Ultimately, I really think these are kind and generous hosts with a great space, I wish them success in the future, and I would stay here again.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
No reviews, now I know why....
First the good: The owner or manager of the apartment was gracious to accept a change request from me only a few days before my first travel plans were interrupted. I rebooked the stay a month later once I knew the issues would pass. This was a BIG PLUS, and after a small change fee, I was really happy and thanked them for the courtesy!
However as the time approached for the updated reservation, I reached out 7 days before arrival to confirm the reservation and to get check-in procedures. I received no response until 4 days before arrival (3 days before my departure from Europe) that I still had a reservation, but they sent no check in instructions. I immediately replied asking for check -in instructions and reiterated my expected arrival time. No response. With no other communication, and unsure if my SMS was received, I waited until the hour before my flight from Frankfurt departed and made a traditional hotel booking in two minutes to get a confirmed place to stay.
Hoping for the best during business travel is not a strategy that ends well when certainty matters. After a long flight, the CDMX free wifi was useless and my mobile SIM was not working. With no pre-arranged instructions, I went with my hotel booking,. Life is to short to wonder what will happen in a city far from home. After sleeping a few hours, and arriving in my office that morning for work, I was able to clear up my SIM issues and found they wrote me while I was in the air telling me they would meet me out front. Kind of useless when I was already in the air.
I believe it is customary at least 3 days in advance to have check-in procedures. I did not expect to be figuring stuff out when jet-lagged, going to meet in a place I am unfamiliar with and have no idea what is going on. It should be expected that communications while in transit can be a problem, so up front and timely communication is critical to peace of mind. I am not even going to bother to ask for a refund,. All I wanted was a quiet and trouble free place to stay that wasn't in a stuffy hotel. Could I have done more to try and make it work? Perhaps, but after 15 hours of flight time, two weeks of travel before that, and looking at another week from home ahead- I was just not in a position to "hope" everything would work out. VRBO was a failed experiment. Will stick with hotels unless I am flexible.
