"We had a wonderful stay at Stanwell House Hotel. The staff are excellent, every member of the team was incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in Room 32, which was perfectly cosy with a very comfortable bed and offered lovely views. The breakfast was great—high quality and plenty of choice. My only minor note is that drinks can be quite expensive at the bar. Highly recommended for a boutique stay in Lymington!"

"Horrible room, dirt and grime everywhere. Sticky floor. Bed clearly just remade after previous guests or squatters, black hairs and pubes. Bed cushion had ominous stains! Slept fully clothed! No WiFi code despite being the selling point and even requesting it. Was told to let them know if arriving after 9pm or they couldn’t help with anything, which I did, but no response to wifi question! Weird selection of a couple of old forks, bowls, mug and the kettle didn’t work and smelled like someone...

I arrived at around 7pm and put the code into the door lock and turned the handle only to find that the door was also locked with another lock I phoned the contact number on the booking confirmation only to find it was an office and nobody was there, so I left a message, I never had a reply. "We had a good stay in a deluxe King Room. There was no a/c or fridge in the room which on such a hot day and night was very much missed. The last time we stayed (some decades ago) the breakfast was freshly cooked to order. Now it is a buffet affair which can never be as good. That said - the quality of the buffet was one of the best we have had. The service at breakfast was also very good. The bacon sausages and eggs were of a high quality.............the coffee however was dreadful..........very bitter. The fresh juices were at room temperature - which on a hot summers day is far from ideal. I don't want ice placed in my fruit juice - but there must be solutions to serving tepid juices that don't involve putting ice in them. Overall, we had a good stay and would definitely consider staying here again. We learnt that some rooms do have a/c so would seek them out in future."

"Did not have air conditioning which was an issue however I should of checked before booking. Rather dated overall but the staff were lovely. Superb location for access to the station, city centre, Isle of Wight and the cruise ships. The food was very good but also check out the TGIFriday as despite the negative reviews we found very good, just go a little later to avoid the family rush. Overall l would recommend."

"We had a Premier plus room on the hottest day. It was cool with dark curtains and we had the best sleep. The staff worked so hard and were incredibly helpful. Unfortunately there was a lift out of action so that made queues but everything else was really good including the location."
