My wife and I were celebrating our 15th anniversary and the Hummingbird Inn was the perfect relaxing and romantic getaway. Eric and Michael are gracious and accommodating hosts. The Inn is gorgeous. Going to the Ref Cardinal is like visiting your favorite Aunt and Uncle’s house. Bill and Joanne have been doing this for a while and it shows. Joanne cooks up an unbelievable breakfast and both are great conversationalists. There goal is to make you feel like you are one of the family and I can say we truly felt that way. We had to visit Gettysburg College for our daughter’s XC meet which was only about 20 miles away.

The Inn as well as the staff are top notch. We felt instantly comfortable and charmed by the place. The night we arrived, they put some out cold beverages and cookies. We were exhausted from driving, so just being able to chill on the porch after checking in with a beverage transitioned us from "travel" mode to "relaxed" mode. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and breakfast both days was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing weekend getaway!

Couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. Gorgeous grounds, beautiful rooms, great breakfast and fantastic people. What more can you ask for? Enjoyable, relaxing music playing in the main houses three common rooms including the breakfast room. Chilled bottles of water in the fridge and small bags of ice in the freezer for guests use. There is ample parking and you can’t ask for a better location. A truly great getaway.

NOT AT ALL WHAT I EXPECTED. I can only blame myself and Expedia, not the hosts. THIS IS A BOARDING HOUSE. YOU ARE RENTING A BEDROOM—EVERYTHING ELSE IS SHARED. This is an amazing find tucked into the quaint harbor area of Lewes. The hotel is well-appointed and welcoming and the room was spotless, huge, and beautifully decorated. The little touches really made the stay, from the koi pond on the patio outside to the taffy on the pillows instead of mints. The pool was small but refreshing. The staff were friendly and seemed happy to help resolve any issues. Well worth it!
