"What a fabulous transformation since we were here 18 moths ago. The hotel was friendly and welcoming. It is now excellent with refurbished bar and coffee shop plus excellent refurbished rooms. Staff were great and we enjoyed dinner on one night. Food was very good and portions were large. Breakfast was well presented on both morning and special mention should be made of the acrambed egg!"

"Nice hotel and a lovely bottle of Prosecco on arrival. Big room and bed was comfortable. However toilet was not flushing properly so they really need to make sure everything is in proper working order. Shower control was very difficult and old fashioned also."

"Efficient, friendly staff at check in. Excellent choice for breakfast and served promptly. The hotel was clean, although there were signs that it was beginning to look a little worn. The shower was hot. The hotel was in an quiet location, convenient for travelling to York or any part of North Yorkshire. Would recommend."

"Third time I have stayed here - always very good. Good rooms with self catering option - on a level with a good premier inn. The included breakfast makes it good value considering it’s an extra at most hotels these days. Good location in central Middlesbrough, handy for the train station and Riverside stadium etc."
