"Hotel is very cute and clean. The owners did a nice job renovating an old property. Other reviews mentioned the area being “sketchy”. It’s not, San Angelo is just an older town. It’s a small hotel, so parking is a pinch. We came back after a football game at 10pm and got the last spot in the lot.
My only drawback was the staff. The gentleman that checked us in was nice. The two ladies that were there in the morning when we came down for breakfast barely spoke. The woman that was supposed to be working in the lounge part was sitting on the couch. Didn’t ask if we wanted any hot food or coffee made. I actually didn’t know she worked there until she got up and went behind the check-in desk. Then she put on her lip gloss and played with her hair. When a guest walked into the lounge, he had to go over to ask for help. She got up and got his food without washing her hands.
Good interactions with staff are something that makes me want to return to a property. Her behavior isn’t enough to not make me come back if I’m in San Angelo again, but she’s definitely a factor in the decision."
