"I stayed at Waikiki Malia in Honolulu for six nights, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t return.
Check-in was smooth and the staff initially seemed welcoming. We were told rooms are cleaned every two days, and that we could request additional cleaning if needed. However, that didn’t reflect our experience at all.
Our room was only cleaned once during the entire six-night stay. After noticing it wasn’t cleaned on the second day, we requested service and were assured it would be done while we were out. When we returned, nothing had been done. We followed up again that night and were told it wasn’t on the schedule, but that it would be handled the next day. Again, we left and came back to an uncleaned room.
We made multiple complaints (at least four times), and the only “service” we received was someone coming in to take out the garbage and loosely make the bed. The sheets were not changed at all—even when there were visible stains from makeup and food. The bed was not properly made; it looked rushed and careless.
On top of that, the Wi-Fi was down for about three days, and there was no communication or compensation offered for the inconvenience.
The only positive is the location—it’s right in Waikiki, which makes it convenient for shopping, food, and getting around without spending much on transportation.
Overall, the lack of basic housekeeping, poor follow-through, and no effort to resolve issues made this a disappointing stay. Would stay elsewhere "
