"We extended our stay in Melfort village and were rewarded with beautiful weather. Upper Cooperage is a lovely comfortable apartment which now has an ensuite shower room as well as main bathroom. Everything we need is provided and the village is so peaceful and relaxing. All the staff are welcoming & helpful & the Monday music night was great fun. Recommend a stay here."

"This was our first visit to the West Highlands and we were not disappointed. A beautifully maintained resort within a spectacular setting. "The setting is idyllic in lovely peaceful surroundings, nature all around. The cottage is large, airy and bright and everything you could need was provided. Although quite a distance from Oban, the main road was pretty quiet and a pleasant drive. The pool was an added bonus, but the sauna wasn't working. We were there on the hottest weekend of the year, so didn't need the sauna."

"In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days. The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week). Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern. Onsite the Shower of Herring restaurant did not disappoint and we had two excellent meals. The resort is well maintained and this is also...

"Loved the friendly staff and the hotel setting is stunning. . The breakfast was nice and tasty. The hotel room was comfortable with a fabulous view of loch fine from the window. We were in the area for a wedding and it proved difficult trying to secure transport back to the hotel from Tarbert the nearest town due to there being only one taxi car. As the hotel is 4 star, a shuttle bus for guests maybe an idea moving forward."
