About this property
1 Bed in Minehead (oc-90923)
Escape day-to-day life, enjoy an abundance of moorland walks or days on the beach, and then relax in this Grade II-listed converted coach house. It is perfectly located just half a mile from the thriving seaside town of Minehead, with its sandy beach, shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and West Somerset Railway. Visit the medieval Exmoor village of Dunster (0.5 mile) with its castle, shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. From Dunster, you can head onto the moors and enjoy the awe-inspiring landscape of Exmoor National Park. Or head along the coast and visit Watchet (8 miles) with its marina, or the coastal villages of Blue Anchor (4 miles) and Porlock (7 miles).
Dog walks abound straight from the cottage door and with a dog wash area and towels provided, you know your 4 legged friend will have a fabulous time too.
Step into this Grade II-listed single-storey property and make yourselves at home in the light and airy open-plan lounge/diner, with its vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. There is a comfortable seating area, which is made for relaxing in, with a Smart TV and French doors opening to the enclosed terrace garden. The small yet well-equipped kitchen has all the facilities you will need to cook a hearty breakfast or a delicious evening feast. After a busy day exploring, sleep well in the double bedroom; the double bed is accessed via two steps from the dressing area. Completing the accommodation is a bathroom.
Head outside from the lounge/diner to the private, enclosed terrace garden, where you will find a seating area, which is a lovely spot for al fresco dining. Descend four steps to the shared 2-acre sub-tropical garden, filled with mature palm trees and exotic plants – there are quiet corners with seating, a ‘secret garden’, a giant outdoor chess set and a children’s swing. The gardens also boast views over the West Somerset Steam Railway and the Bristol Channel. Enjoy the communal fire pit with giant marshmallows for toasting. Come and feed the goats and sheep in the 2 acre paddock and say hello to the miniature Shetland pony.
Completing the site is a shared heated outdoor swimming pool set in its own walled area with poolside furniture.
Silver award winners of the 'Surfers Against Sewage' award! A marine conservation and campaigning charity.
