There are miles of coastal paths to explore, where you can take in the magnificent scenery whilst spotting the local wildlife. Moelfre is steeped in maritime history and still has a working lifeboat station as well as a Seawatch Centre, and direct access to the 125-mile coastal path that encompasses the whole island.
There are also plenty of opportunities to take part in water sports or fishing nearby, with the small shingle beach in the village having public access for boats. Nearby sandy beaches include those at Benllech and Lligwy. The fabulous resort of Benllech is a firm favourite for families and couples wanting to enjoy a coastal break. The lovely beach, just over 4 miles away, is an all-round favourite, with its resident seals that frolic along the coastline, helping to create a holiday to remember. Here you will find plenty of cafés and restaurants. Nearby Red Wharf Bay also offers a good choice of eating establishments.
Explore all that this lovely island has to offer, including the Anglesey Sea Zoo, Pili Palas Butterfly Palace and Plas Newydd. Newborough Forest is a must-visit while on the island, just over 30 minutes’ drive away, and is one of the most important red squirrel conservation sites in the United Kingdom. The forest backs onto a beautiful beach, from where you can walk onto Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn), a magical place located at the far end of the beach near Newborough Warren.

Well-equipped, comfortable accommodation in a peaceful area with sea views.
Well-equipped, comfortable accommodation in a peaceful area with sea views. Many extras were added to our expectations. The area is a lovely part of Anglesey and we were able to explore much of the island. It can be a little cold this time of the year, but the heating came on and turned off automatically and the temperature was comfortable.
