"It was a wide traditional tadami room. The wash stand is too short for us (I am 174 cm tall and my wife is 166 cm tall). Except that, traditional Japanese gaisheki dinner and breakfast were excellent. "One cannot honestly review this place without seperating the food from the accommodation. The proprietor is sushi chef SUPREME and the dinner course was the most awesome sushi wife and I have EVER had (and we've travel extensively throughout Japan to know). Every dish is prepared in front of you and served one at a time so be prepared to spend a while to enjoy the full course. Even if not staying here, highly recommend you come here for unforgettable sushi. The stay is a little like being in a hostel, superior in room quality but with shared bath and toilet (which is also used by restaurant customers). Everything is modern and clean and the room is nicely decorated but has a tiny sink in the corner for washing face and brushing teeth. I believe there's only 2 rooms upstairs that is accessed by a steep, narrow staircase so if you're a large or heavy set person, probably this is not a comfortable place to stay. Also, DON'T bring lot of heavy luggage because it's a long walk from the ferry terminal, lot of it over unpaved, bumpy sandy road. Besides, it's unsafe to have the ladies who work here to carry it upstairs.Again, the sushi is to die for, EXCEPTIONAL, but the actual stay is not for everyone. But for the adventurous and ones who appreciate traditional setting at a fantastic price (considering the dinner course alone is worth so much more than what high priced sushi restaurants charge for an inferior product), highly recommend a stay here, or at least stop by for a meal."

"In room onset with a view over looking the ocean!! This hotel was a highlight of our trip to Japan. We had the in room dinning experience which was beyond expectations. Food quality and presentation were excellent. Accommodations and amenities exceeded expectation's. "

"The property is very nice, clean and modern. The living room is a comfortable place to relax. Please be aware that this is a 3 bedroom property and the other rooms will be occupied by other guests. The kitchen, living room, toilets, and bathroom are all shared with the other guests. The house is lovely but has very thin walls and doors and you can hear all the other guests, even when they are trying to be very quiet. If the other guests leave early in the morning you will very likely be woken up. It is a nice place to stay but please consider this when booking. "

"The staff was terrific; very kind and attentive. The view of the Tori gate was incredible from our room. Food was wonderful and there was a lot of it! More that anything, Miyajima is just a wonderful place! If we can manage it we will go back! Also, they have no issue with tattoos in the onset, which is a plus for me!"
