"My husband and I spent 10 weeks at Talavera while looking for a home in Salem. It was a fantastic home base with all the amenities we needed. Walking distance to historic downtown and Safeway and cute neighborhoods for evening strolls (watch out for bunnies!) The established neighbors in the building were lovely and the host of the property was always accessible and took care of any concerns quickly. "I enjoyed staying at The Independence because it was clean, the private spa, and the value for the room. I slept well, it was a clean smell in the air, and the breakfast had a good variety with really tasty coffee. I wanted a midpoint between Portland and Eugene, and it really is a nice place that I would stay again in the future with my family. This was a solo trip, and I truly enjoyed the scenery. Everyone was nice, and attentive."
