Fantastic Houseboat `Splendid` with Tender Kaag

Pure freedom on a Surla Houseboat in the harbor of Monnickendam. Fully equipped, 100% ecological (with dry toilet) and self-sufficient for the ultimate holiday feeling! Luxury, comfort and respect for nature come together. We would like to welcome you on our sustainable Surla houseboat to create beautiful memories with this unique experience. Surla takes care of mooring the houseboat (sloop included) in the summer. (depending on the weather and no rights can be derived from this).

The Surla Houseboat is 15 meters long and 6 meters wide. A total area of ​​84m2 excluding the roof terrace. The living room and kitchen are 25m2 and have 3 large sliding doors, so you always have a phenomenal view.

There is a spacious living room with a sofa, dining table, TV and sliding doors to the front terrace with outdoor chairs. The open kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, kettle and Nespresso machine. There is a table freezer in the utility room. The bathroom has a shower, sink and a (dry) toilet. There are 3 bedrooms on the houseboat. Two bedrooms with hotel beds (1.80 x 2.00 m), specially designed for Surla Houseboats. The third bedroom has a bunk bed (0.90 x 2.00 m). Via an external staircase you can reach the spacious roof terrace where there is a lounge set where you can enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Last but not least: on the back terrace there is a warm outdoor shower, wonderful after a swim.

Our Houseboats are sustainably built and 100% self-sufficient.
We have ingenious systems on board that allow you to recreate without needing shore power. We also have filter systems so we do not need to have water tanks on board.
We are guests on the water and have done everything we can to realize 100% off-grid and ecologically responsible solutions.

Guests have the entire houseboat to themselves and you will be warmly welcomed by our host, who will explain everything about the boat.
We do not allow our guests to sail the Surla houseboat themselves, but a dinghy is included in the rental price. Sail at walking pace with the dinghy, we are guests on the water. Any fines are at your own expense.
No parties allowed.

Surla has check-in hosts available at various locations. They will welcome you and guide you to the Surla for explanation. It is nice for our hosts that you indicate your expected arrival time in advance. You will receive the host`s telephone number in the instructions. You will receive this by email more than a week before arrival.

Houseboat location:
You can park your car in the Monnickendam marina (free parking). In summer (weather permitting) Surla the houseboat is moored in a beautiful spot/location on the lake. A dinghy is included in the rental price. You can sail to and from the Surla with the dinghy. Our host will guide you here the first time.

The Surla remains in place by means of spud poles (a kind of anchor). In bad weather conditions, a Surla employee places the houseboat in a sheltered spot in the Monnickendam marina. This can also happen during your rental period, as we do not want to take any risks.

Surla Tender (dinghy):
We provide a dinghy during your stay.
This aluminum tender is included in the rental of the houseboat.
It is important that you start the tender with the accelerator in Neutral. Do you want to lock the tender when you are not using it? Also at night?

Sail slowly! Place the tender at the front or back of the houseboat. Take it easy, so that there is no damage to the houseboat or tender.
We will charge for damage immediately.

The tender is fully filled upon arrival. The request is to fill it up again before checking out (Petrol 98), so that the next guests also have a full tank or leave money behind when you leave.
You can buy petrol at the Texaco in the village or you can buy a jerry can from our host. Costs 40 euros for an empty tank and 20 euros for half a tank. If the tender has not been refueled and no money has been left behind upon departure, we will charge the costs afterwards.

REMARK:
Surla rents several houseboats at different locations. The location, the floor plan of the houseboat and the interior in the photos may differ from the actual houseboat. All our houseboats were built in 2022-2023.

The houseboat is not suitable for small children. Swimming diplomas and/or life jackets are highly recommended. We will not recommend the houesboat for people with mobility problems.

We advise you to do the necessary shopping before boarding.

The houseboat is not for sailing yourself. We want to say that you are in nature and that spiders/mosquitoes are also there.

We filter the water from the lake, so it is fresh water and not drinking water. We provide you with drinking water for the first day.
