This is a charming, relaxed city, less for great sights, more for tranquility, hospitality, and its warm people.
Beautiful Old Town Montevideo, but it felt abandoned & unkept. It could be such a beautiful area if the maintained the buildings!!
Disappointing to see how abandoned and unkept the Old Town looks & feels. While It didn’t help that it was Carnival Holiday and the City was kind of deserted, the condition of the beautiful Old Town buildings was sad to see.
Make sure parking options are clear before staying, many hotels in city are nice but require on street parking, risky. Or a paid parking lot and walk back to hotel.
Very exciting city ..a lot of energy...the people are very friendly. It is also beautiful and a Uraguay has a wonderful way of dealing with life.
