"Beautiful house set within extensive gardens amidst the tranquil Charentes countryside. The House is comfortable, well equipped and full of character. The large garden is private and fully enclosed, with lots of quiet corners to sit and read or just admire the view. The fenced off pool area is excellent - and features ample seats. The Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. All in all this is a wonderful place for a holiday with friends or family in a beautiful corner of south west France."

"Le Hibou is a lovely gite in a beautiful area of rural France. The gites comfortably accommodated 6 of us. Sarah, our host, was so friendly, very helpful and served a delicious breakfast! We cannot recommend le Hibou enough- hopefully we’ll return soon. "

"We had a great week here. The house is well-equipped, and the pool is great — perfect for a group holiday. We left with plenty of happy memories. The only downside has been what happened afterwards. Two weeks on, we’re still dealing with a waste disposal fine we believe is unfair, with very unclear communication from the host. During the stay, the only issue raised with us was fixed straight away, and nothing more was mentioned. It’s a shame, because instead of just remembering the holiday, we’ve ended up discussing this when we get together. "A wonderful grand period house with all mod cons, stunning surroundings, a lovely big pool and charming hosts. We had a brilliant week here as three generations of a family of 18. Plenty of space to spread out. Highly recommended! "

"Excellent location, really gorgeous pool and spaces outside were perfect for us, we had four adults and five children between us and the youngest was kept safe as there is no access to the pool or the road if you keep the door and gates locked, which was really helpful. Our trips to Aubeterre were lovely and just a short drive away, sadly the restaurant in Montboyer was closed but we enjoyed making pizza outside and cooking lots of meat and salads. The children loved the pool! Jackie was really helpful and friendly and close by if we needed her! "
