Nationally Historic Cook Mansion in Montour Falls, NY

  • The Cook Mansion is a Nationally Historic Brink 5800 Square Foot Mansion built in 1873. It borders the Beautiful SheQuaGa Falls in the center or Montour Falls, NY. It has 6 Bedrooms and 6.5 Bathrooms available for guest to stay in. 4 Bedrooms have King Beds and 2 have 2 Queen Beds each in them. There is also 2 twin size cots available for use in any room. 1 King Bedroom is downstairs and the remaining 5 Bedrooms are upstairs, each with their own bathrooms. Downstairs there is a very large kitchen fully equipped for renters use with 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, toaster, dinnerware, drinking glasses, pots and pans. There is also a laundry room with 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. Also downstairs is a Sitting Room, Living Room, and 2 connected Dining rooms able to sit 20 people in the 2 combined rooms. There is gorgeous views of the SheQuaGa waterfall from the interior of Cook Mansion. Guests really enjoy staying at Cook Mansion built by Elbert W. Cook in 1873, and we hope you have the opportunity if you are vacationing in the area to be able to enjoy a great family or friends gathering at Cook Mansion together.

Perfect house and location!

Our group of 8 women stayed at Cook Mansion for the Seneca 7 relay. The house was beautiful and perfect for our needs. We loved having the waterfall in the backyard and used the large kitchen and dining areas for breakfasts and dinners. The bedrooms were large and the beds were comfortable. We all agreed it was a fantastic stay and we will be back!

Destination half marathon house near Corning NY

This was a great house for 12 adults to share. The kitchen was spacious and the dining areas accommodated our group. We enjoyed the town and it was an easy drive to the bus pickup location for the half marathon. A good time was had by all!!

Finger Lakes Mansion

Cook Mansion was just perfect for our large group of 11. Beautiful old house with large bedrooms and every couple had their own attached bathroom. Huge fully stocked kitchen, two dining rooms and nice parlor were all great places to gather. Hosts were very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend the hike along the falls in nearby Watkins Glen State Park.

perfect winter weekend

We were looking for a comfortable and convenient place to help my mom celebrate her 89th birthday. We found it here! Several common spaces for conversation, puzzles and meals, many lovely bedrooms with very comfy beds and the kitchen was massive, well fitted out, and perfect for communal meal preparation. Our host was very accommodating about arrivals and the location was perfect for poking around Watkins Glen.

Our stay at Cooks Mansion.

The inside was clean and very large. Perfect for group's. Definitely a little spooky vibe and a waterfall on the property so super unique. The outside of the property seems to be negated. Dirty, spider webs etc. Needs some love. But overall great location.

Annual Girls Weekend

We have been doing an annual ladies weekend to the finger lakes for the last 10 years. We have stayed at various hotels, and rental houses over the years. We first stayed at Cook's Mansion in Montour Falls last year and loved it so much we rented it again for this year. Being ofoo the Southern tip of Seneca lake it is centrally located to Seneca, Keuka, and Cayuga lakes. The huge kitchen is wonderful as a central hub to cook and hang out together. Plenty of seating for sit down dining is available. We appreciate every bedroom having it's own bathroom as it makes it so much easier and quicker for everyone to get ready for the day. Bonus of it all is the waterfall basically in the back yard! We can't wait to stay again next year.

Perfect size & location

The size and location of this mansion was the perfect fit for our family. My husband and I rented this home for 3 of our sons/daughter-in-laws & 4 grandkids. We had a total of 12 at the home. We spent a long weekend exploring Watkins Glen & Ithaca. Our mornings were made easier in the large kitchen with 2 stoves. We loved the fact that each family had their own bathrooms for privacy. We made good use of the table space playing games and building 2 large puzzles. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this property for large extended families or friend groups. We also enjoyed reading the history of the mansion and seeing the photos of previous owners. Thank you for allowing us to stay at the mansion.

The property was great for my large family. We all had our own rooms with bathrooms. The bathrooms are small, but it was great to have one in each room. The building is historic and the outside needs work, but it is still beautiful. The inside was clean with plenty of amenities to make it comfortable and it felt like home. The view is spectacular... the sound of the waterfall was majestic. The host was a text message away and answered all questions... we had no problems. We loved our time there and would rent it again.

My 4th year of staying at this same property for an annual ladies getaway. The things we love about it:amount of bedrooms and bathrooms, the large kitchen with two stoves and two dishwashers, the large open living spaces both inside and outside. Also the waterfall almost in your backyard!

Very spacious house that provided us with plenty of room to share time together as well as have privacy. We loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom! The kitchen was well stocked and provided enough utensils, pots and pans to prepare a large meal. Less than 10 minutes to Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake. The house was clean and well furnished. Communication with the property manager was easy with responses usually within 30 minutes.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cook mansion. Quiet street, just steps away from the falls. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was large enough to spread out. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of extra blankets. We definitely recommend this house.

From the moment you enter, the Cook Mansion is amazing! Equipped with anything you could possibly need! The owner was so easy to get in touch with. There were twelve of us and we all had such a great time! I would definitely go back. Next time in the spring or fall.
