"This was our first family vacation to Vermont, and we chose River St House duplex in Montpelier as our base for a week of hiking and scenic drives. It worked out great! The property was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. It is about 1 mile from the small downtown area where we ate breakfast and dinner, and about 1/2 mile to an organic food co-op where we found pre-made sandwiches and deli foods to take on our hikes for lunch. "My family was happy to spend another winter break in this cozy and welcoming home. It has everything we need, very comfortable beds and a beautiful fireplace. We were there for a big snowstorm, so we also took advantage of the huge TV and also passed the time playing some of the board games that are available. The roads were quickly plowed and we enjoyed spending time in the lovely town of Montpelier. We particularly enjoyed visits to the Three Penny Taproom and Langdon Street Tavern as well...
