Cross House Apartment is situated in the very centre of this popular, picturesque and historic village only 150 metres from the castle. Shops, friendly village pubs, lovely cafes and unique bistros are all within 20 metres but the property still provides a quiet retreat being tucked away behind the main high street. Warkworth is dominated by its fine castle and riverside walks. It's only a 10 minute walk to the sandy bay which stretches from Alnmouth to Amble in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is on the coastal route providing over 20 miles of golden sandy beaches. It is an ideal holiday base for exploring the stunning coastline nearby as well as the Cheviot hills. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are 6 miles. Boat trips to Coquet Island from Amble only 2 miles. Local golf course ½ mile. Train station 3 miles for day trips to Newcastle, Edinburgh and beyond. A local bus service runs on a regular more local journeys. This is an ideal location for exploring the Heritage coastline and beyond. The apartment is next to the owner’s property along with one further holiday studio.

We wanted to travel to Northumberland as had never been and it didn’t disappoint. Absolutely beautiful in every way, stunning beaches, villages and fabulous accommodation.The apartment was just perfect for us and our 2 dogs.The garden was large and dog friendly and the accommodation so beautifully presented and we just loved everything it offered We ate locally and really liked the Masons Arms which was very dog friendly and lovely homemade food.Looking forward to visiting again soon

We had a lovely short break at Cross House apartment. The property was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. It is superbly located for walks from the door along the coast north and south. The beaches in the area are beautiful, miles and miles of golden sands and clear water. There are also plenty of options within 50 metres of the property for eating out during the day and evening.

This excellent property in Warkworth is an ideal base from which to tour the wonderful sites of Northumberland. The apartment was clean and offered everything we needed. Warkworth has plenty of free parking, great pubs and restaurant options as well as being walking distance to the beach and other trail routes. The property and local pubs/restaurants are dog friendly. The accommodation and overal area are highly recommended.

We were immediately impressed with the quality of the property on entering and seeing the exquisite garden. the apartment was of an extremely high standard and Lara and Andy provided an excellent welcome pack. The apartment was lovely , light and airy ,very clean and well equipped . The enclosed garden is beautiful .We did very little cooking during our stay as the Masons Arms just across the road served lovely food as did Bertram’s. (And all dog friendly too!) The hosts were very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Lots of brilliant places to visit in close proximity. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return here in the future!

We had a wonderful stay in Warkworth with Lara and Andy, the apartment is very comfortable and well thought out and it was such a pleasure to have a lovely safe back garden to allow our escapologist border terrier Archie play in without fear of losing him. There is everything you need to have a relaxing holiday, with really helpful tips from Laura and Andy as to places to visit and walks to do. Check in is easy as is checking out. We would highly recommend this area to stay in, close to beautiful beaches and fabulous countryside.

Spent a lovely few days in the lovely village of Warkworth. Lots of great places nearby to eat and drink. Plenty to do and see nearby with the castle and walk to Amble and easy to access Alnwick and other great places in the area. Property was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Parking was free and easy nearby. Was a little bit of a faff to get luggage from car, around the other properties and upstairs, but we probably had too much stuff! Worth it if you're staying a few days. Shared garden was also appreciated.

Very expensive for what is basically a bedsit. I regularly stay in cottages in beautiful areas of Britain that are considerably less expensive. The oven needs replacing, old and rusty. Very little freezer space. Although we don’t spend much time in front of the TV, door the current day, it’s tiny. This is the first review I’ve ever given where everything is just perfect or close to perfect

This was our first visit to Northumbria and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect base. The apartment was modern, spotlessly clean, cosy - just what we needed after a day enjoying the surrounding area. Warkworth itself is lovely with a castle one end of the street and an ancient bridge over the Coquet river at the other. There are two very good pubs within yards of the property as well as a very well stocked shop and several other eateries, which meant that once you'd parked up in the square there was no need to go out again if you didn't want too. We toured the area for a week and without doubt in our mind Warkworth village is the most appealing as a base. Admittedly we were lucky that the castle was a riot of daffodils, the sun shone and the rain held off. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Lara's apartment in the future.

We had a lovely time, going to Alnwick, Craster, Lindisfarne and walking around, as well, of course as taking many wonderful walks from Warkworth itself. The hosts very helpful, the apartment was very comfortable, and had everything we expected - except that basic kitchen provisions - salt, pepper, vinegar and oil as a minimum - would have been appreciated (there was oil!) . When you are only going somewhere for a few nights it is a real pain to have to assume there will be nothing provided. People could also be advised to book for everything at least a day in advance - visits to castles or homes as well as some of the restaurants.
