CROSS HOUSE STUDIO Dog Friendly Stone Barn Conversion in the Heart of Warkworth

Cross House Studio was fully renovated in 2019 to provide luxury accommodation and is finished to an extremely high quality throughout.

It is situated in the very centre of this popular, picturesque and historic village only 500 yards from the castle. Shops, friendly village pubs, lovely cafes and unique bistros are all within 50 yards but the property still provides a quiet retreat being tucked away behind the main high street. Warkworth is dominated by its fine castle and riverside walks. It's only a 10 minute walk to the sandy bay which stretches from Alnmouth to Amble in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is on the coastal route providing over 20 miles of golden sandy beaches. It is an ideal holiday base for exploring the stunning coastline nearby as well as the Cheviot hills. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are 6 miles. Boat trips to Coquet Island from Amble only 2 miles. Local golf course ½ mile. Train station 3 miles for day trips to Newcastle, Edinburgh and beyond. A local bus service runs on a regular basis for more local journeys. This is an ideal location for exploring the Heritage coastline and beyond. The studio is behind the owner’s property along with one further holiday apartment.

Property is spacious. Bed very comfy. Shower hot and good power jet for after long walks. Cooking area is well equipped. Tea and coffee on arrival was welcome. The underfloor heating was a real luxury, our dogs loved it. feet.

Fantastic stay!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The studio is really cleverly built on to the owner’s house and has fantastic views of the garden. It was a perfect place for two, clean, roomy, bright and well-equipped. Warkworth itself is beautiful with great walks, lovely pubs and easy access to other neighbouring towns and villages. Highly recommended.

Cross house was the perfect size for my wife, myself and our dog. The property opened up on to a beautiful walled garden that we all enjoyed. It was in the lovely village of Warkworth and a short journey to the stunning beach.

Beautiful Studio & Garden

The property is lovely and has everything that you need. Our dog loved the enclosed, walled garden and was very happy and safe. Warkworth is a glorious little village and the walks on the beach and along the river are perfect if you are taking a 4 legged family member with you. Lara is the perfect host, welcoming and friendly. The check-in/out procedures are quick and easy. Tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and orange juice were provided, which was thoughtful. Sadly, we had to leave early due to a family issue but really enjoyed our short time at the studio.

A definite 5 star stay

We just finished a weeks stay at the Cross House Studio and could not have been more pleased. My wife and I are experienced travelers who have stayed in dozens and dozens of self catering homes and this place ranks up in our top 5. There is not one specific thing that stands out to push this so high up on the list - rather it is the cumulative total of so many things that all rated very highly - resulting in a superlative stay. A super quiet location. In the hustle and bustle of the village but when you enter thru the outside door and into the inner garden (beautiful BTW) you enter a peaceful Oasis. The property was immaculate. The wifi was fast and the TV very adequate. Compact but very comfortable and functional. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and furniture. Lara & Andy are personable, helpful, and proactive. A great pair of hosts! So much to do nearby a week was not enough time. We immensely enjoyed our stay and will endeavour to return. Well done!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely appartment in Warkworth. Hosts were lovely & helpful, offering advice on the area and the appartment was spotless & had everything we needed. The Mason Arms was great for food & drink and just across the road. Bertram's also lovely for Brunch. Would definately return.

Fantastic & friendly!

A fantastic studio apartment, sparklingly clean and with a fab shower. It has a lovely walled garden which we all enjoyed. The hosts and their dogs are very friendly! Warkworth has great places to eat. We can recommend the Masons Arms for good food and very welcoming staff. It's also an easy walk along to Amble Harbour Village where there are more food options. The area is very dog friendly and has lots of beautiful beaches. We enjoyed dinner at The Heart of Northumberland in Hexham followed by a walking tour, The Hidden Horrors of Hexham - both dog friendly. Most of the independent shops allow dogs including the wonderful Barter Books in Alnwick. Lara can help you plan your days as she has great knowledge of the area and is obviously passionate about it. Like everyone we met, she wants visitors to enjoy the area. We were blown away by the hospitality and hope to visit again soon!
