I love this place, it's a gem! The staff are all incredibly helpful, friendly and kind. I was suppose to stay 3 nights but got caught-up in the London Heathrow meltdown and my connection to Glasgow was cancelled. I took a train to Motherwell the next day. I called to explain and they were very accommodating of me missing my first night. Today I stated the West Highland Way trek. The Motherwell train station is a 1 hour train ride from Milgavnie (a starting point for the West Highland Way). Motherwell turned out to be a very affordable place to stay. And the food and drink menu at their pub is awesome, they have EVERYTHING! I can't say enough good things about Raven’s Cliff. Ok, one more thing, there's a huge park Strathclyde near the hotel, I spent probably 1 1/2 walking around this beautiful park. Downtown Motherwell has a charm to it as well, not a "fancy" feel but a charming feel.
