"NOTE: THE HOTEL IS CLOSING IN AUTUMN 2026 The Mecure is brilliantly located opposite the Porta Nigra in Trier with an attached car park and has comfortable rooms, good (but slightly noisy) aircon and really friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is excellent, but we were surprised by the limited dinner/room service options, as we were arriving late on our first night. We found out upon check-out that the hotel is closing (maybe to be bought out and refurbished) in the autumn, which is why they were not investing in new services. Worth staying in whilst it is open though."

"The property has AC which was a big plus. The hotel was clean and it had an elevator to our room, but not all rooms have access to an elevator. The room was very small and was difficult to maneuver because of the sloped ceilings. Close to train station. Not an ideal location for dining and shopping."

"Best breakfast! There was an orange juice machine, champagne and beautiful fresh fruit in addition to a variety of other foods. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Great location if you want to be close to the train station."

"The rooms and common areas in the hotel are new and pleasant. The room was very clean and I couldn’t find fault with it. Not the largest room but surely larger than other alternatives in this range. The bed was very comfortable and the temperature could be controlled easily. The bathroom was in good shape but a suggestion would be to address the shower where the water can occasionally run cold for a second or two at a time. Would work well with better a better iron and ironing board. Also, you can occasionally hear the guests in adjoining rooms. An available laundry room would help."

"We checked in and the property is beautiful and its a wonderful place however check in was a bit unsatisfactory, we were sold access to the Spa but when we went there we had no services available, and we were told the train station was 10 minutes away and they had a shuttle to get us there but upon check out we were told we need to reserve the shuttle ahead , we ended up at a bus stop for an hr in the middle of nowhere, not very accommodating after we just stayed at a very high end hotel. The restaurant was wonderful and we still enjoyed the stay, just a bit disappointed!!!"

"This was a fantastic stay! I arrived very early and they were extremely accommodating in storing my bags while I explored the city. My room was clean and spacious. The front desk was fantastic in offering suggestions on how to get around the city and even calling me a taxi for the next morning."
