We really enjoyed our way too brief of a stay. The cabin is wonderfully restored to its classic rustiness. We regret not planning more time to enjoy the lake and the woods. We loved it. Karry was great to work with as well

My mom and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very peaceful with a beautiful view of the lake. Kerry helped us build a bonfire one night. Both Kerry and his wife were friendly and welcoming. Thank you!

Great location on 16-Mile Lake, and Kerry is an awesome host. The cabin was very clean and adequately equipped. The bedroom is small but functional. The only suggestion I would have is that it needs more window screens as there were only 2, and that was not adequate to fully cool and ventilate the unit as it was a bit hot when we were there, and keep all the flies out. Overall a good value.

Kerry and his wife were the most welcoming people. Da Cabin is very well maintained and fully stocked in a very relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed our chats with Kerry and his family...and left feeling like family. Having kayaks to explore 16 Mile Lake during the day, delicious homemade rhubarb cake shared with us and stargazing around the bonfire at night added to the perfect getaway for us. We will be back again, no “butts” about it ;) A huge thank you to Kerry and his wife for making this a memorable weekend for us.

We enjoyed staying at Da Cabin! Had a little adventure coming in because the GPS in our truck took us on a ATV 2 track at 10pm. But we made it! Lol The cabin was so cozy! Kerry had the place so warm for our late night arrival, he even kept the fire going for us throughout the whole next day, due to us exploring Munising. Kerry was an excellent host! He made sure everything was perfect for our stay. Even let me borrow a hairdryer! Top notch service at this cabin!!! We would love to come stay again!

My husband and I were looking for a quiet place to stay away from the tourist stuff and not a hotel for a get away weekend and this little cabin did not disappoint. The lake view is peaceful and beautiful. After spending full days hiking around Pictured Rocks to various waterfalls, it was great to come "home" and sit around the bonfire to relax. If you like stargazing, the sky is amazing. Kerry was super hospitable and provided everything we needed. There is even wi-fi and a smart TV if you really don't want to give up all of your devices for the weekend :) I will definately recommend this cabin to friends and family. And my husband already wants to go back again to see the rest of the sights we missed the first time around.

My husband and I rented this Cabin for a long weekend getaway to celebrate our Anniversary. Cabin was really clean and cozy and has everything you need. The owners live next door and were very welcoming and accommodating. This cabin is only about a10 minute drive to Munising (Pictured Rocks) and close to many other beautiful sites!! We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend!

Such a cute little cabin. It gave us an opportunity to have a relaxing weekend and to just be able to slow down. The wood burning stove made it cozy as this time of year begins to get a little chilly. The lake was calm and beautiful to wake up to. Kerry is a wonderful host and was there to help if we needed anything. The cabin is adorable and was perfect for just the two of us and helping us accomplish our relaxing getaway while being close to exploring the beautiful surrounding areas. Highly recommended.

The good: Beautiful area, nice lake, indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Kayaks and firewood available. The not-so-good: cabin is stuffy without A/C. Bedroom window doesn't have a screen. Only one tiny lamp for the biggest room in the cabin. Needed my flashlight! The bad, part 1: The bed. It's a double, when listed as a queen. Mattress is ancient and hard as a rock. No topper or egg crate available. I am not picky when it comes to beds, but neither my partner nor I were able to sleep on this mattress. We ended up taking the (also ancient, but comfortable) couch cushions, laying them on the floor, and using that as a bed, which sufficed. The bad, part 2: The tap water. While clear, it tasted strongly metallic and smelled strongly of rotten eggs. Running the tap for many minutes did not improve it. It did not seem safe to drink, easily the most sketchy tap water I've ever encountered. With the sulfur-y rotten egg smell coming out of every faucet, doing dishes and showering felt counterproductive. There were a few bottles of water in the fridge but no Brita filter or anything to improve the tap water. This place had such good reviews, so it was really surprising to us that no one else mentioned these issues! Over the years we've stayed at dozens of online home rentals, in this country and others, and we've never had a negative experience like this. Between these two issues, we decided that we couldn't stay here beyond the first night (initially booked for 6). We called VRBO and attempted to cancel and get a refund. VRBO patched us through to the owner, Kerry. We explained our concerns about the tap water, and he insisted that the water was high-quality well water, the same he drinks in his house next door. I asked if he would like to come taste the cabin water, and he refused. He then said "Get the hell out of here!" twice. We felt very threatened by our host and immediately packed up and left. He then only gave us a partial (~50%) refund when he promised one for the 5 days we didn’t stay. This is theft. We are still fighting for the rest. An egg crate, a Brita filter, and a host capable of hospitality and a grown-up conversation would have gone a long way toward making this place habitable. Unfortunately, these things were beyond Kerry. Especially upsetting is how aggressive he became when we brought up our concerns. Thankfully, we didn't let him ruin our vacation, and we promptly found another place to stay in the UP that was totally great.

We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and Kerry greeted us and gave us a short tour. The cabin is old and nice and had lots of updates. We were equally impressed with how clean it was. Nice and relaxing. Kerry is a great great host and he even shared some of his homemade pasties. Yum. Thanks Kerry.
