"It was fine for a one night stop, traveling by motorcycle, no secure parking but was fine in the car park at the front of hotel, staff where friendly and helpful, a good Chinese restaurant a short walk away and a supermarket a bit of a walk to center ville. "

"The castle is dramatic in it's contruction and the tour well worth the time. The hotel is part of the fort itself and is old and charming. Some rooms are being updated, but ours was already good. Staff friendly and efficient. Parking easy."

"This is a fantastic property for large groups with a well-stocked kitchen and spacious rooms. The very large garden is stunning with a great covered area perfect for eating outside whatever the weather. The local area is picturesque and the village of Redu is full of interesting shops and friendly people. The property owner was very helpful and quick to communicate with us, providing lots of useful information and recommendations. Unfortunately the pool was not ready for our stay and bright green with algae on our arrival. This was especially disappointing as the first two days before the added chlorine took effect were the best weather of the whole week and the children were upset not to be able to swim while the sun was shining. The bathrooms were also not quite as listed, with one less toilet and one shower out of service. Apart from these small inconveniences, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"The building was of a good standard but the hotel lacked the friendly approach to their guests. On arrival at 16.30 we found the door locked and had to wait for it to be opened. The hotel listed a restaurant but no evening meal was available. There was no information on times of breakfast or restaurants nearby. Although the hotel is in a beautiful location the hotel totally lacked character. "

"Located in a not quite salubrious part of town, first impressions are mixed. However the owner is very welcoming (without any English being spoken) and the hotel has a rustic, individual charm. The room was quiet and clean, with a level of amenity to be expected. The highlight of the stay was the meal in the hotel restaurant - freshly cooked, local influence and great value. The owner was attentive and keen to please."
