"The USP of this property is the amazing view down to Lago di Lugano across into Switzerland. There is also the interesting story about the old funicular railway to the rear of the hotel which closed in 1977 but may be refurbished and reinstated if funds can be secured.
It is a rural location, about 20 mins walk from the nearby town of Lanzo d'Intelvi and the bus service from Como drops you about 400m from the hotel reception if you aren't driving.

"This hotel was very nice for our stay on Lake Maggiore. The room was small but clean and modern. Having a balcony was a plus, as was the delightful breakfast. The hosts gave us good info about driving up into the Versazsca and Maggi valleys. The stone roofed and walled buldings in the isolated villages are a must see. It was a short walk to the lakefront for dinner and a little casino time. Good location. We'd stay here again! "

"Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral, man erreicht es sowohl mit der Bahn ( bis Locarno ), und dann mit den Öffis ( Bus 1 Rtg. Gordola Centro Professionale, Aussteigen : Via Sociale, das Hotel liegt genau schräg gegenüber. ), als auch mit dem Auto. Von Locarno aus liegt es in Muralto auf der linken Seite, kurz bevor man nach Minusio herein fährt. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Für den Preis wird ein top ausgestattetes Zimmer, sowie ein Frühstück geboten, das keine Wünsche offen lässt....

"We had a roof terrace room and it was a really lovely room. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. The swimming pool was gorgeous. Free parking right outside. The town of caslano was beautiful, lovely circuit walk right from the hotel and we walked down to the historic centre at night to eat takeaway pizza at the side of the lake, as well as eating in the grotto opposite.
