Breathtaking Mountain/Water Views/Private Pool/Hottub/4.4 miles to Casino

Renovated mountain property, overlooking the Hiawasse River, featuring a heated pool (closed seasonally, depending on rental requests as late as Oct). Up charge for heat, if needed. Recent 6 person Hottub. Amazing views from inside or outside, and several thousand square feet of concrete and trex decking makes this property a wonderful vacation setting. Sleeps a maximum of 10. Two sets of twin bunks are recommended for children. Tight for 10 adults.

Centrally located within 1 mile of downtown Murphy, with multiple delicious restaurants, 4.4 miles to the recently built $200+M Harrah's Casino, and less than a 45 min drive to the Nantahala Gorge white water rafting center with zip lines. Fun for just about all ages.

Home includes Foseball/Soccer and Ping Pong table.

Pet deposit of $25 per dog. Max 2 dogs allowed per visit. Again pool can be heated for an additional cost.

Best pool and lake view! So nice, we've come twice!

Our second visit and the view over the lake draws us in every time. Comfy deck furniture and lots of pool toys. Location convenient to groceries, restaurants and outdoor activities. Don't miss the donuts at Rare Bird Emporium.

Great relaxing getaway with a gorgeous view

We loved our time at Scott's place in Murphy. Such a beautiful home with a wonderful view. We spent literally hours playing in the pool. We would love to return again next year.

Great getaway with amazing view

Overall our stay was amazing although too short. The views were gorgeous and the house was huge. A few minor things that I didn’t worry about and we will definitely be booking again in the future!

Relaxing, Tranquil Getaway

My husband and I really enjoyed our weeklong stay at "Catus Cabin". The overall views and sunsets are truly amazing! The home is very nice! We grilled, swam in the private pool, hung out by the firepit, saw so much wildife, and just chilled. It was perfect! We also went into downtown Murphy, NC for some local eats and shopping. Nice place to visit!!

Beautiful home, we had a great time. The kids loved the hot tub. We enjoyed the fireplace. This home is the friendliest and best stocked home we've ever rented. We loved it. Kudos to the owner!!

Hideaway In The Mountains

The house was more than expected! Was the perfect about of space for our 7 adults and 1 kid. Amenities were everything and more. We loved being able to enjoy a private pool with a spectacular view. Would totally recommend the house for anyone. Plenty to do in and around Murphy too.

Visiting the new grandbaby.

We enjoyed our stay. The deck was awesome and the views even better. Not far from town and the road wasn’t bad getting there. Loved the rocking chairs and swing on the deck. Had our meals utilizing the picnic table. The walk to the lake is a little hard for a couple of them that tried it, but we didn’t come for that. Master bedroom is very nice.

Beautiful place with something for everyone. Great for large groups too. Close to the Casino if that is what you like. One mile from Downtown Murphy. Perfect location! Love the Pool and the Hot Tub. The covered pavilions is my favorite to avoid the sun. Deer in the yard everyday! Thanks Scott for letting us stay in your beautiful home again.

Beautiful property with spectacular views

This house is a perfect layout for privacy and great spaces for coming together. The views are amazing in a peaceful setting. We had chilly weather so couldn't use the pool but we did smores and hot dogs at the fire pit. 3 1/2 baths was a great plus. This is a VRBO rare find and GPS will take you right there. The historic downtown was just lovely as was the river walk and it was roughly 10 minutes to get there. We made great memories!

Family vacation

Our family of eight had the most wonderful week. The location can't be beat, fantastic views! Coffee in hand, we spend mornings on the deck. Long afternoons around the pool and hot tub. I feel the house is more accurately three bedroom. The fourth is a cave in the basement. The house is dated and some attention needs to be given to better cleaning. However, communication with the property manager was excellent. He always responded promptly when you needed. I would recommend this location.

Feels like home

We wanted to try something that wasn’t a beach trip and this house/location did not disappoint! The views are amazing, the house feels like home and has everything you want and need in a vacation home. We highly recommend having the pool heated! We swam in the rain and in the early morning 55* weather! If you have small children, check out Two Crows Alpha Farm! Woody and Mike are very personable and know their Pacas! We recommend Parsons Pub, Shoebooties, Chevelles and Sal’s Pizza if you are looking to eat out! Thank you, Scott for sharing your home with us! It was honestly one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we have had!

Cactus Cabin retreat

Can’t say enough great things about our stay. Scott is a gracious host. The house is amazing. We were there late for leaf peeping but still saw some color. The house is very comfortable. The kitchen saw a lot of use during our stay; it is well stocked. Didn’t use the pool but the hot tub is a great way to end the day and helped provide sound sleep on the comfortable bed. The back porch swing is very inviting; we sat on it to watch a hawk get chased off by crows. We saw the deer many times. We were sad to leave. We visited downtown Murphy and it was very nice. We visited Dahlonega and Blue Ridge in Georgia, which never disappoint. We loved our ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad out of Bryson City. We also drove the Cherohala Skyway which is a blast. If you are interested in this house, just rent it, you’ll love it.

Nice place

This was a nice place to stay. The pool was a hit with everyone. The town of Murphy has a great riverwalk for your dog family too. I would definitely book again.
