"The house is full of charm and character, a beautifully renovated farmhouse with lots of space and comfort. We really enjoyed the lovely pool and hot tub, and the boules court! It was a pleasure to cook in the kitchen and to enjoy meals both indoors and outside. Paul and Virginie were very helpful and kind, especially when we had to deal with some unexpected car trouble. We would be delighted to stay there again."

"A delightful single storey gite hosted by Mike with father Roger closeby offering helpful advice. We shared the large garden with a French cockerel (Monsieur Macron) and his ageing companions (Brigitte and Monsieur Mitterand). Vergt affords a decent supermarket, hotel, and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and it provided a well situated base for trips throughout Dordogne."

One major remark however, as safety is an important aspect for us: there were no smoke detectors while the listing indicated they would be there (apparently they were removed because they went off when using the fireplace)"

"A beautiful French house which was spacious and extremely well equipped. Clearly a well-loved family home and the beautiful house also has a fantastic outdoor area and an extra dining space, which is also well equipped, down near the pool and garden. A gorgeous region, but we could have quite easily spent every day in the beautiful house and by the pool. Brigitte was a great host and made us feel extremely welcome as well as well looked after throughout our 3 week stay. We have some very special...

"House was in a lovely location. Garden was rustic beautiful sound of frogs in the evening. House comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Owner was helpful to accommodate a later check out. Shame half a toilet roll, and no soap provided. Would rather have had these basics than the local bottle of wine! Especially as had just stayed at another place with the basics including toilet paper soap and cleaning products in addition salt and coffee being provided."

"We stayed here for 5 nights. The location is beautiful and well away from day to day life. The grounds include woods, fields and a lake with splendid views across the countryside. Our host, Aurelie and her family, were so kind and welcoming and the property was comfortable and full of character. Highly recommended and we’ll be booking again!"

"Far enough from town to be very quiet but only a 10 min walk to the centre of Bergerac. The property is not only well maintained and exceptionally clean but also characterful and charming. David spoke excellent English which was helpful after a long drive from the centre of Paris. Thank you David"
